Chapter 142 Harry's Birthday Party

Chapter 142 Harry's Birthday Party

The humble dwelling survived a major earthquake.

At first, Mrs. Weasley was just disappointed, after all, her older brothers, who were ahead of the twins, all had twelve O's in their OWL report cards.

Although George and Fred were intelligent, they weren't as hardworking as their older brothers, a fact Mrs. Weasley was well aware of. But a mother always has hope for her children, and she still held onto a sliver of hope for the twins—

What if they pull through at the crucial moment...? What if they turn over a new leaf under the influence of their high-achieving friend (Lyla)...?

The result was that there were still a lot of Ps on the transcript.

Fred and George obediently lowered their heads and let Mrs. Weasley scold them. Considering that each of the twins had passed at least five subjects and even received three O's, Mrs. Weasley reluctantly let them off the hook.

But after dinner, while cleaning the room, Mrs. Weasley found a stack of order forms on the twins' bedside table—filled with their own inventions of pranks, such as magical candies and trick-or-treats.

Mrs. Weasley was furious and burned all the order forms on the spot. If they hadn't been used to storing their products in the toolbox with spatial magic that Lyra bought, they probably wouldn't have escaped death either.

Fred and George were furious when their hard-earned order forms and price lists were destroyed in a fire.

Another family feud erupted, this time especially fierce—particularly when the twins yelled at Mrs. Weasley that they didn't want to work for the Ministry of Magic like Percy, but only wanted to run a joke shop.

Mrs. Weasley still had a stern face the next day.

“They’re not unintelligent!” Mrs. Weasley waved her wand forcefully, sending plates and cutlery flying into the sink. “But they never use their intelligence for anything good. They’re always finding new ways to get into trouble, and we get more owls coming to tattle on us from school than all their brothers combined! I really don’t know what they’ll become after graduation, whether they’ll be able to support themselves or get a decent job…”

Fortunately, after breakfast, everyone was heading to Sirius's new house for Harry's birthday party.

As everyone lined up to leave in front of the fireplace, Mrs. Weasley kissed each of the children. When it was Fred and George's turn, both of them had stern faces and no smiles.

Lyra felt that no matter how many times she went through it, she would never like using FlooNet.

She spun rapidly in the blazing, emerald-green flames, her arms constantly bumping and bruising. Countless fireplaces flashed past her eyes, so fast that she could only see blurry shadows, which made Lyra's head spin and feel a little nauseous.

Fortunately, Lyra arrived at her destination shortly after, and with a thud, she fell down sitting outside the fireplace of Blake's new house.

"Lyra!"

Harry, who had been waiting by the fireplace to greet the guest, quickly reached out and helped her up from the ground.

"Oh, Harry, thank you," Lyra said, using Harry's help to stand up, then giving him a big hug. "And happy birthday!"

Harry awkwardly hugged the dark-haired girl back, a little embarrassed, but with a smile on his face.

Lyra handed the gift to Harry, then went to find Hermione and Ginny. The girls had arranged to change clothes together in the washroom.

Previously at the shabby house, the atmosphere was too oppressive due to the argument, so the three girls didn't dare to dress up too much, but they had already prepared new dresses for this party.

This morning, when the three girls went out, they secretly put on the pretty little skirts that Lyra had brought back from abroad under their large wizard robes, and Mrs. Weasley didn't suspect a thing.

When three beautiful girls, having removed their robes to reveal their skirts, and fully made up, emerged, they immediately attracted everyone's attention.

Harry and Ron were both stunned!

Lupin smiled and took over from Harry to greet the guests, while Sirius insisted on pushing Harry in front of Lyra and teaching him to invite Lyra to dance.

That's right, Sirius Black not only decorated the entire house beautifully, but also went all out and invited a band! So that Harry and his friends could have a blast on the dance floor with live music!

There were many people here today. Sirius not only invited Lyra and the others on behalf of Harry, but also his roommates, many of Harry's classmates, and the entire Gryffindor Quidditch team!

Lyra didn't need to worry about who would take the photos; the young Gryffindor boy who loved taking pictures everywhere was also invited, and he was currently running around the party, having a great time taking photos.

Harry felt that today was the happiest day of his life!

It was the first time he had a birthday party in his own home, the first time so many people had gathered for him, and the first time he had danced with Leila!

Now he was grateful to Sirius for insisting on having a suit made for him, and to Remus for teaching him the dance steps in advance, which he had previously thought was too grand and too troublesome.

The immense joy and satisfaction gave Harry a lot of courage, and he began to talk to Lyra more freely.

“...Last week, when Sirius and Remus came to pick me up from my aunt’s house, they scared my aunt, uncle, and Dudley half to death,” Harry grinned. “They scared me too. Sirius was dressed in rags and had smeared soot on his face, looking like a murderer who had just escaped from prison. He was even carrying a huge wooden club!”

The two of them twirled around lightly.

"Remus said Sirius copied the troll's club, and he deliberately told his uncle that he had just escaped from prison and was a murderer, and that if they were unfriendly to me again, he wouldn't mind taking three more lives..."

Harry vividly described how his cousin was so scared he wet his pants, and Lyra laughed so hard she rested her head on Harry's arm.

“Remus dressed up on purpose too. He was dressed like a teddy bear, all fluffy, and he told his uncle he was a werewolf, and that if they dared to call the police and expose Sirius as a fugitive, he'd eat their whole family…” Harry laughed until his stomach hurt. “Remus said Sirius forced him to wear that fluffy coat, but I think Remus actually enjoyed it. I think there’s a reason they’re good friends…”

Harry also said that when he left, he deliberately dropped the prank candy he bought from the twins on the floor so that his cousin Dudley, who was being forced to lose weight, could see it.

“He’ll definitely be unable to resist eating it, and he’ll probably turn into a canary and a frog several times,” Harry chuckled. “Auntie and the others will probably scream like crazy, but Dudley will turn back on his own in a little while, it’ll just be a false alarm.”

While Harry and Lyra danced and chatted, Ron kept sneaking peeks at Hermione. Today she had her hair in a braid and was wearing a blue tulle dress—completely different from usual!

Ron felt awkward and unfamiliar, but for some reason, he couldn't help but keep glancing at Hermione.
