Chapter 1 Showy Skills Dispute
Chapter 1 Showy Skills Dispute
As the morning sun shone down on the earth, a group of teenagers were pedaling their bicycles furiously along the dirt road leading to the village middle school.
They raced against each other, showcasing their cycling skills. First up was Fa Zi, tall and handsome, whose specialty was riding with both hands off the handlebars. He could not only ride in a straight line but also make right-angle turns without touching the handlebars. Next was Jun Ge, who, despite being tall and strong, was no less skilled. His specialty was riding at high speed and then suddenly drifting, performing a 180-degree U-turn while still riding normally. Following closely was Yan Bin, slightly less muscular than Jun Ge. His special skill was lifting the front wheel while riding, riding normally without the front wheel touching the ground, and not affecting his turns. Behind Yan Bin was Hong Bo. Despite his small stature, Hong Bo was incredibly agile. He could suddenly lift the front handlebars and spin 360 degrees while riding, then continue forward. Hong Liguo followed behind them. He also had his own skill: suddenly braking the rear wheel, twisting the handlebars at a large angle, and using the momentum to draw a circle with the rear wheel as the center. However, he considered himself exceptionally intelligent and wanted to learn everyone's skills, resulting in him being a jack-of-all-trades but master of none. When he couldn't do something well, he would blame it on his bicycle. Jay's bicycle was too old and worn out, so he rarely showed off his skills, at most just riding with both hands off the handlebars. Besides that, they had many other little tricks that they enjoyed playing with (each of their skills was honed through numerous falls and bruises; showing off skills is dangerous, and teenagers should not imitate them).
The six teenagers showed off their driving skills as they weaved through the students, occasionally causing minor collisions that drew gasps and accusations.
Hongbo was extremely excited and shouted loudly, imitating the scene of charging in the movie: "Brothers, charge! Kill! Plant the red flag on the village middle school!" He was the first to rush out.
Yanbin was not to be outdone and followed closely behind.
Jun Ge, Fa Zi, and Hong Liguo were neck and neck, while Jie lagged behind.
"They're fighting! They're fighting! Xiao Guo, hurry up and ride! It looks like Hong Bo is fighting with someone up ahead!" Yan Bin shouted loudly at Hong Liguo and Jun Ge, his two-and-a-half-foot-long tongue slurring his words.
"Who's so blind as to lay a hand on one of us Six Swordsmen? He's asking for a beating!" Jun Ge kicked his old bicycle and charged forward, cursing as he did so.
Hong Liguo also saw a group of people gathered together and making a ruckus not far ahead, and it seemed like someone was fighting. However, he didn't expect it to be Hong Bo fighting with someone, because Hong Bo had just ridden past less than two minutes ago.
Yanbin walked ahead of Hong Liguo and Jun Ge, closely following behind Hong Bo. He was the first to hear Hong Bo's cursing, and only then did he turn around and shout loudly at the others.
Hong Liguo turned around and waved to Fa Zi, who was lagging behind, signaling him to catch up quickly. Then he rushed past Jun Ge.
Jun Ge and Yan Bin nimbly jumped off their bicycles as soon as they arrived. Without asking any questions, they went straight over and grabbed the guy who was grappling with Hong Bo, unleashing a barrage of punches and kicks. The guy cried out in protest, "Who the hell are you? Can't you get your facts straight? I was just trying to break up the fight, why are you hitting me...?"
At this moment, Hong Liguo and Fa Zi arrived. Hong Liguo jumped off his bicycle, about to make a move, when Fa Zi grabbed him and said, "What's the rush? Ask what happened first before you act."
Fa Zi is always calmer than Hong Liguo and the others when things happen.
At this point, Jun Ge had released the person who claimed to be breaking up the fight, and he, Yan Bin, and Hong Bo were attacking two other people. Those two were clearly not to be underestimated either, and they fought back desperately.
These two had the upper hand when fighting Hongbo alone, but with the addition of Yanbin and Jun Ge, they suffered a loss. Despite the loss, they continued to curse and refused to beg for mercy.
Fa Zi pulled Hong Liguo back from joining the fight and asked the students watching the commotion, "Why are they fighting? Which village are those two from?"
Only then did they realize that Hongbo had accidentally bumped into one of the people while riding his bicycle at high speed, almost knocking the bicycle over. After regaining control of his bicycle, the person cursed at Hongbo, saying, "Are you blind? Go home and have your dad put you back in your mother's belly and beat you until you're born!"
Hongbo couldn't stand it, so he cursed back with even more offensive language. The two men, seeing that Hongbo was small and thin, didn't take him seriously and thought he was easy to bully. They jumped off the car, grabbed Hongbo, and said while hitting him, "You fucking foul mouth, today I'm going to teach you a lesson on behalf of your parents, teach you how to be a decent human being."
Hongbo was not one to back down from trouble. He threw off his bicycle and started fighting with the two men. Although he suffered a bit of a loss, he did not back down because he knew that his companions were right behind him and would arrive in a minute.
Just then, Jie arrived on his old bicycle. After getting off, he recognized the two men. They were from his aunt's village and were related to his aunt's family. He had seen them at his aunt's house many times before and they had a good relationship.
Seeing that Jie knew those two people and even had a good relationship with them, and knowing that Hongbo had bumped into them first and was in the wrong, Fa Zi stepped forward to speak to them politely. The other party was initially unwilling to let it go, but seeing that Hongbo suddenly had so many helpers, they knew that if they continued to make trouble, they would only suffer more losses. So they said, "Since you are all Wu Jie's friends, we two brothers will give him face today, and let's just let this matter go."
Jun Ge and Hong Bo curled their lip and said unconvinced, "Damn it, what else can you do if we don't count? If you're not happy, then let's fight."
At this moment, several people pushed and shoved the two people away, and Fa Zi also scolded Jun Ge a couple of times. Turning back to Hong Bo, he said, "You bumped into someone and you're still so angry. Today is the first day of school. The township middle school is not like our village primary school. It's a mixed bag there. Don't make enemies before you've even gotten to know them."
Hongbo retorted indignantly, "I just accidentally grazed him a little, I didn't even knock him over, and he actually cursed at me! How can I tolerate his bad temper! Let's make an enemy of each other, who's afraid of who? If you're not happy, let's fight! If we fight, our kids will get eggs!"
Hong Bo's joking remark drew laughter from the surrounding students. Someone whispered, "Even if two men are really angry, they can't possibly have a baby! Hahaha! Want to eat eggs? Dream on!"
In those days, eating eggs was a luxury, which is why there was a saying in the countryside: "Children born from labor eat eggs." At that time, only women could eat eggs when they gave birth. If the family was well-off, the rest of the family could also enjoy one or two. If a woman never gave birth, she would complain: "I've never had a child, and I've never eaten an egg with sesame salt."
Those days in that era were a kind of hardship that today's young people can't even imagine!
Hong Liguo said, "Alright, alright, today is the first day of school, don't be late. Hurry up and pack the car, let's go."
Hongbo and Jun helped lift the bicycle that had fallen into the ditch and pushed it onto the road. After checking it, they found that apart from the handlebars being slightly bent, everything else was fine. Fazi and Hong Liguo helped straighten the handlebars, and then they got on their bicycles one after the other and rode towards the township middle school.
