Chapter 69: A Dream
Chapter 69: A Dream
"Dad, what are you doing?"
"Daddy's studying magic circles~" Philip raised his head slightly, took off his glasses, and smiled at the girl standing in front of him: "What's Loira doing?"
"Weren't you cooking with Mom?"
"Mom told me to call Dad." The girl said, hugging Philip from behind and rubbing her small head against his back.
"What kind of magic circle is this?" the girl asked, tilting her head and curiously examining the magic circle diagram on Philip's table with her blue eyes.
"A very complex magic circle." Philip didn't explain much; he just chuckled and picked up the magic circle, saying, "Once Royla goes to school, she'll know what this is."
"I see... So when can Loila go to school?"
"Probably another three years, right?" Philip counted on his fingers. "Three years from today, Loila will be a qualified wizard."
"But Loila doesn't want to be a wizard," the girl whispered. "Loila wants... wants to be a magic array expert."
"Hahahaha." Philip laughed and ruffled his daughter's hair. "Silly girl, wizards and magic circle experts don't have to be incompatible."
"Is that so?"
Looking at his daughter's innocent face, Philip smiled and shook his head.
"Oh, right, Dad." As if suddenly remembering something, Loila pursed her lips, her blue eyes looking at Philip with a hint of confusion.
"What's wrong?"
"Yesterday... yesterday Loila met a strange person." Loila thought for a moment and said, "He said Loila is a hybrid monster."
"What is that?"
Her words made Philip frown. He pursed his lips and said, "Who said that?"
"I...I don't know him." Loila was startled by Philip's serious expression. She shrank back and said, "Did Loila do something wrong?"
"Loira did nothing wrong." Philip sighed softly, a hint of helplessness in his eyes. "If she really did make a mistake..."
He shook his head: "It should be Dad who made the mistake."
"Dad made a mistake?" Loila tilted her head and asked, "What mistake?"
"Don't be curious about Loila." Philip gently reached out and pinched the girl's little pointed ear. "You just need to know that Daddy doesn't regret it."
"Is it like this...?" Loila shook her head as if she understood, then reached out and placed her hand on Philip's face.
"Then Dad shouldn't be sad."
Philip paused for a moment, then quickly said, "Dad isn't sad."
"Dad is just thinking about what to eat later."
"Really?" The girl tilted her head and puffed out her cheeks, looking incredulous.
"Of course." Philip smiled, stood up, and picked up his daughter. "Come on, let's sneak a peek at what Mommy's doing!"
"Roila, don't speak first!"
"Of course not, Loila!"
"That's right... Only in this way can one become an excellent magic array expert..." The two voices faded into the distance, and as they left, the candlelight on the desk slowly went out.
Finally, only a few slivers of tranquil moonlight peeked through the gaps in the curtains, gently illuminating the unfinished magic circle diagram on the table.
………………
"dad……"
"Cough cough cough..." Loila coughed as she opened her eyes, her throat feeling a little itchy. She had been dreaming again, dreaming about what had happened before...
It's really strange. Strictly speaking, that was more than sixty years ago... How can I still remember it?
Loila wiped her eyes and then stretched.
It was another morning at Hogwarts.
It's already the third week, and Loila sighed as she looked at the magic circle diagram on the table.
She still doesn't know the effect of that magic circle, and even after asking Mr. Riddle, the answer she received was simply that she didn't know.
of course……
"Cough cough cough." Loila felt her throat was unusually itchy, maybe because she hadn't drunk enough water?
She waved her wand slightly to summon a cup, then spat out a little water from the tip of the wand.
She felt much better after taking a sip of water.
Of course, this was only physical... Her mood was not good after several days of researching the magic array without any progress.
But that's normal... after all, Dad used to spend years researching magic arrays.
She realized she was far inferior to her father in this regard... She shook her head, letting those somewhat negative thoughts leave her mind.
She still has several jobs to do today.
One is waiting for Mr. Lockhart, who promised to lend him his memories in the early morning... and there's also the Duel Club this afternoon.
I wonder who's Mr. Lockhart's teaching assistant today?
It seems that Mr. Lockhart has subtly expressed his opinion because he did not perform his teaching assistant work very well.
"Miss Hamilton might be better suited for teaching."
That's wonderful... I only helped Mr. Lockhart once and I got a semester's worth of Defense Against the Dark Arts lessons.
This must be the most profitable deal Royla has ever made.
Besides Mr. Lockhart's matter, Loila also promised Luna that they would go to see Quidditch together in a few days... She actually didn't want to go, as it would be dangerous if she got hit by a ball or something.
But Miss Lovegood is my friend, and I can't refuse my friend no matter what!
Miss Lovegood, in particular, performed very well! Loila has wanted to have her join Lord Grindelwald's great cause many times.
She definitely has the potential to become an excellent dark wizard!
This is the first saint I've nurtured at Hogwarts. When Miss Lovegood is a little older, I'll tell her about Lord Grindelwald's grand ideals, which is...
Hmm... what was it again?
Please forgive Loila, but during her years in Nurmengard, most of what she did was related to magic arrays... As for what that "for a greater good" actually means.
Loila didn't know much about it... she just vaguely remembered that it was related to wizards and Muggles.
Perhaps it's something like wizards and Muggles living together peacefully?
Miss Hamilton, whose performance in studying leadership ideology within the UMNO party had consistently been at the bottom, shook her head, realizing she needed to brush up on her knowledge.
However, this will only happen after I've overcome the problem of feeling sleepy when reading political books.
Loila picked up a towel and wiped her cheeks and ears, then let out a soft sigh and put on her mask.
Alright, now that socially awkward Loila is gone, and next up is the silent, aloof, and wordless Chaplain Hamilton...
"Miss Hamilton?"
"Ah!?" Loila shuddered and looked towards the door.
It's...it's that person's voice!
It's someone whose name I can't reveal!
I didn't say anything to you this time!
"Good morning, Professor Hamilton." Dumbledore smiled slightly as he looked at Loila, who had just changed into her robes. "I have something I'd like to discuss with you."
"It's related to your magic array items."
