Chapter 106 Son of Dawn
Chapter 106 Son of Dawn
On the other side of Moonflower City, Noah and He Yuran walked side by side on the sidewalk, maintaining a subtle distance between them that was neither intimate nor distant.
"Ah Xin is really something, she went to Guangyang City to sweep the tombs without saying a word, and didn't even take me with her." He Yu Ran said with a hint of complaint and disappointment.
"What are you going to do?" Noah asked, glancing around at the shops lining the streets. "They're going to pay respects at their 'family' graves. You don't have any special connection with the others in that lab. You'll just seem out of place there."
"That's not what I'm worried about!" He Yuran frowned. "I'm really not interested in places like that. My main concern is A-Xin's safety. What if those assassins from the future..."
"Don't worry, I've made arrangements." Noah appeared calm and composed. "We'll be safe for the time being; there won't be any sudden attacks for now."
Although Noah had already told her this, He Yuran still felt uneasy. How could Noah possibly control the actions of the future assassins?
However, things have been quite peaceful these past few days, and the second assassination attempt did not occur. Therefore, He Yuran can be considered to have tacitly accepted that Noah does indeed possess such abilities.
Seeing that He Yuran had stopped speaking, Noah turned to look at her and asked, "Speaking of which, Miss He, what are your thoughts on becoming a magical girl now?"
"...To be honest, it was just an accident...I accidentally bumped into you while trying to separate you and A-Xin, and accidentally gained this power. But now that I have this power, I will use it to protect A-Xin. That's all."
"Yes, in retrospect, it was indeed an accident," Noah smiled. "But have you ever considered that in my time, there was no other 'Noah,' and the 'artificial catalytic awakening' that night didn't exist either? So, how exactly did you, at 23, become a magical girl?"
He Yuran was clearly stunned—she had never thought about the reason for this question before.
The maximum age for a magical girl to naturally awaken is 18. However, in her life before the age of 23, she had no memory of "awakening as a magical girl".
In other words, He Yuran from Noah's era... completed the magical girl awakening without relying on the "what if" awakening?
Seeing the bewildered look on He Yuran's face, Noah gently poked her with her finger to wake her up—
"You'll find out why in a moment. I specifically called you out here to explain this to you."
After walking for another ten minutes or so, the two arrived at the entrance of a seemingly unremarkable pharmacy. The store was small and, compared to the surrounding shops, even appeared somewhat deserted.
"We've arrived."
"What are you doing here?" He Yuran looked at the ordinary-looking pharmacy and became even more puzzled.
"Come here first—" Noah pulled her and led her to a deserted alleyway, "to become the other side."
Although filled with doubts, He Yuran didn't ask any further questions. She nodded, and a dark red light emanated from her body, transforming her into the magical girl, Bigan.
The two returned to the shop entrance and then pushed the door open and went inside.
"Welcome! What kind of medicine would you like to buy?" Upon seeing customers, the clerk behind the counter immediately smiled at the two of them.
"Do you have any tools here that can reconstruct the Mystic Code three times in a row?" Noah asked calmly.
"???" Upon hearing Noah's words, Bi'an wondered if she was seriously ill... This is a pharmacy, right? What is she talking about?
However, the clerk maintained her smile: "Sir, what are you talking about? This is a pharmacy. How could we possibly have such a thing?"
Seeing the clerk's refusal, Noah calmly picked up her phone and scanned the QR code on the counter.
"I'm willing to pay an extra 100 yuan."
Then, Noah turned her phone screen towards the cashier, showing them the screen indicating that her payment had been successful.
Upon seeing Noah's actions, the shop assistant's smile vanished instantly. He quickly glanced around, then looked at the street outside the glass door, before a warm smile returned to his face.
"So you're a 'major client,' please come inside to discuss this."
The shop assistant came out from behind the counter and led Noah and the Other Shore into the back of the shop.
The back room was quite spacious, with some medicine boxes and a medical bed. It looked like a small clinic.
"Children of the Dawn, united as one." Noah said this inexplicable sentence to the shop assistant in a low but clear voice.
"Please wait a moment," the clerk replied respectfully, then left and closed the door behind him.
Not long after, the door was pushed open again, and a figure walked out. It was a girl who looked about eighteen years old and was wearing a simple dress.
The girl's gaze swept over Bi'an and Lingbo, and she suddenly frowned.
"Who are you people? You're not members of our organization."
After the girl finished speaking, she took a step back, looking very wary.
"Ah, it's really impolite of me to bother you at this time. Let me introduce myself first."
Noah kept smiling, trying to ease the somewhat tense atmosphere.
"You've probably heard of me. I'm the magical girl who traveled from the future to this world, codenamed Noah."
The girl looked at the two of them, took a few steps to the side, and didn't seem to let her guard down.
She observed for half a minute before finally speaking slowly, "So that's how it is. You're Noah. We unofficial magical girls have heard a bit about you. Since you're from the future, it's not surprising that you know our 'Children of Dawn's' code."
"I apologize for the inconvenience."
"No need for formalities. Let's get straight to the point: what is the purpose of your visit?"
"Okay, then let's not waste any more time."
Noah turned her gaze behind her and looked at Bi'an, who had been silent since entering the room and looked completely bewildered.
"Could you... help treat her?"
Hearing this, the person on the other side was even more confused... Was I injured?
The girl followed her gaze to the other side, then looked at Noah, and shook her head. "...Why should I help you?"
"I will pay."
"It's not about the money." The girl found a chair and sat down, looking at Noah with some displeasure. "Since you're from the future, you must know the rules of our 'Children of Dawn,' right?"
"Mm." Noah nodded, then walked behind the other side, held her shoulders, and pushed her forward a few steps—
"This child is a victim of the 'Magical Girl Awakening Project' from over a decade ago... Shouldn't that meet your criteria?"
