She quickly grabbed his clothes to steady herself.
"Okay, I just really wanted to see my brother. Thank you for your help."
Darren nodded.
He knew, of course, that Harry had gone far away; he was just trying to boost the giant's "Fatherly Value."
You're welcome, little one!
Hagrid burst into a big laugh as his mouth, hidden deep within his beard, opened.
He thought the little guy in front of him was amazing and must be a Gryffindor boy!
"go quickly!"
"Attention first-year students! Watch your step!"
Hagrid called back.
He led everyone across a muddy path.
Many people fell because of this.
Darren cleverly walked beside Hagrid, occasionally being pulled by him, and steadily reached the edge of the Black Lake.
This is a black lake.
The castle sits atop towering cliffs on the opposite shore of the lake.
From a distance, the castle appears to be illuminated by a twinkling starry sky.
"Hurry up, don't dawdle, get on the boats quickly, no more than four people on each boat!"
Hagrid shouted.
All the students stumbled and struggled as they boarded the small boat.
Darren had originally planned to just go up with anyone.
Who knew that just by standing there, he felt someone pushing him forward, and then he boarded a small, deserted boat.
Darren looked over in confusion after boarding the ship.
This is a very cute little girl.
She had golden hair, green eyes like his, a mole under her eye, and a very aloof expression.
When he noticed Darren looking over, he turned his head away without saying a word.
Isn't this the girl from the senior student's carriage?
Looking at these features, Darren was very suspicious. She was none other than Cassandra Worre, the Slytherin's sister!
The system said it would give him 50 points of favorability with Cassandra, but it seems to have no effect at all.
He also has the title of "little loli killer," which increases the favorability of all girls under the age of sixteen by 30. In theory, this should give him a favorability rating of 80.
As a result, he completely ignored him when he came up.
Is the system messing with him?
Darren scratched his head.
However, he didn't initiate a conversation, but instead excitedly looked at the surrounding scenery.
Beyond the cliffs covered in ivy, there is a hidden, open entrance.
The small boat glided across the calm, still water, following a dark tunnel to the bottom of the castle.
Then they rowed to a place that looked like a dock, where the small boat stopped on a ground covered with pebbles and gravel.
"We've disembarked!"
Hagrid called out.
They cleared out all the small boats and even found Neville's toad.
Then they followed in Hagrid's footsteps and climbed a small path on the rocky mountain.
After walking across the damp green lawn, we finally arrived at a large oak gate.
Hagrid stepped forward and knocked three times.
Darren saw the wooden door open and Professor McGonagall walk out solemnly.
"Thank you, Hagrid. Leave the rest to me!"
She nodded to Hagrid and led a group of freshmen toward the auditorium.
This place is very large.
The ceiling seemed to stretch endlessly.
Torches of unknown origin burned on the stone wall, illuminating the place brightly.
Even though Darren had been here before, he was still shocked once again.
"This place has been enchanted; it looks just like the sky outside. I read about it in 'Hogwarts: A History of the School'."
Darren heard someone say that behind him.
It should be Hermione.
This is a true academic achiever.
He couldn't help but give a compliment.
"laugh!"
Just as Darren was genuinely admiring Hermione's diligence, a disdainful voice came from the side.
He looked back.
Cassandra stood behind him with her arms crossed, looking aloof. If Darren hadn't had good hearing, he wouldn't have been able to tell that the voice was hers.
He hesitated for a moment, somewhat wanting to use his saintly aura to correct her moral views.
But after thinking about it, he gave up the idea, since he couldn't provide any evidence that the sound came from her.
Moreover, Cassandra's voice was very soft; it's likely that no one else heard her.
This is not a good place to show yourself.
Well, there will always be a time for him to shine.
Chapter 44 Harry Potter
"Line up, the Sorting Ceremony is about to begin!"
A shrill voice shouted.
The freshmen instinctively stood at attention.
Darren stood obediently behind a dark-haired boy.
"I wonder how they're going to divide the students into departments?"
Someone asked fearfully in front of Darren.
Darren looked around; everyone's faces were filled with apprehension. It seemed that none of the parents had told their children how they were assigned to different schools.
Even Cassandra's usually aloof face now showed a hint of fear.
It seems that scaring children is a tradition in the magical world.
He chuckled to himself, his mischievous side awakened.
So he stood in the crowd and said hesitantly, "I heard from Madam Pomfrey that we're going to fight a troll."
"what?"
"My God!"
"What's a troll?"
"I won't die, will I?"
"..."
The freshmen were stunned by Darren's words.
To fit his persona, Darren himself showed a pale face.
He even bit his lower lip, leaving a tooth mark.
It looked so pathetic.
No one thought he was saying it to scare people; they all assumed he genuinely believed it.
They were trembling with fear, and some of the children even shed tears.
Their pitiful appearance amused many people.
Even Professor McGonagall was amused by their appearance and almost burst out laughing.
"Alright, quiet down, let's begin the sorting process!"
