Chapter 106 The Tea House of Madame Padve, which was booked out
Chapter 106 The Tea House of Madame Padve, which was booked out
When Lyra discovered that the person who saved her from falling on the muddy snow was Cedric, her first thought was that the smell of pine wood suited him well.
"Hey, wait for me, Jason!" Suddenly, another big guy rushed out from the crowd, like a black bear chasing its companion, howling and knocking Lyra, who had just been bumped and barely managed to stand up, down into the snow again—this time along with Cedric, who was distracted and completely unaware of his surroundings.
It seems my new robe is destined to be soaked in slush today—
Leila closed her eyes in despair, waiting for the muddy snow to soak her cloak and new robe.
But after waiting for a long time, she was still comfortably enveloped in warmth and the scent of pine, without feeling any dampness or coldness on her body.
Eh?
Leila gently opened her eyes and found herself still buried in a dry, warm cloak that smelled of pine. The cloak's owner was beneath her, using her back as a protective cushion, and a dark-haired girl was reflected in her clear eyes.
Leila felt as if the hustle and bustle of the crowd had vanished into a distant corner, while the scent of pine permeated the air, omnipresent.
"Sed?" A friend's voice called out faintly from afar, breaking the momentary stillness.
Cedric seemed not to have come to his senses yet, staring blankly at the girl he was holding in his arms. Lyra, however, had already begun to frantically climb off Cedric's chest, but she accidentally slipped and fell back into Cedric's arms. This time, her elbow slammed into Cedric's stomach, and the two of them couldn't help but cry out in pain at the same time.
"Lyra?" This time it was Angelina's voice calling.
Lyra heard her roommate's voice and quickly limped to her feet. Meanwhile, Cedric had already gotten up from the ground, clutching his stomach, though mud dripped from his cloak.
At this moment, Angelina and the round-eyed boy who had just ridden in the carriage with Lyra saw the two of them looking disheveled and quickly ran over. Arya and another boy also turned around and came back.
Merlin, how are you all?
"Oh, I'm fine. Someone bumped into me and I slipped, which also caused Cedric to fall..." Lyra explained to everyone as she straightened her disheveled clothes with Angelina's help.
"I'm fine, just a little snow on my cloak, it'll dry in a bit." Cedric shook the hood of his cloak and brushed the snow off it.
“Let’s go, let’s find a place to warm up quickly—” Lyra glanced apologetically at Cedric, her gaze falling on his wet cloak.
“Hey, I’ve got an idea for a place with plush sofas and steaming hot tea—” Angelina and Aria exchanged a glance, both of them eager to try it out.
"Oh, I know, it's Lady Patiff's Tea House!" exclaimed the brown-haired, round-eyed Hufflepuff boy excitedly. "Uh, of course, I've never been there, I've only heard of it..."
Another Hufflepuff boy also looked very interested, with four pairs of sparkling eyes simultaneously looking at Lyra and Cedric—clearly, these were the longing eyes of four people who had never been there but desperately wanted to experience it.
"...I have no objection." Lyra and Cedric were completely defeated by the other four.
“Great! Let’s go visit Lady Patif’s Tea House, cough cough, and have a cup of hot tea to warm ourselves up.” Angelina, who had never been to the tea house that was considered a must-visit place for couples, excitedly pulled Aria ahead and led the way, with the others following closely behind.
*
"Temporarily closed?" Angelina read the words on the sign hanging at the entrance of Madame Patif's Tea House incredulously.
“I heard that Lady Patiff’s Tea House is open on Hogsmeade Open Days—” the round-eyed boy said, sharing information he’d gleaned from the Hufflepuff circle.
"So we can't go in?" Aria asked dejectedly.
“Of course, anyone who can read can understand what ‘temporarily closed’ means,” a slow, arrogant voice with a drawn-out tone came from behind them. “Get out of the way, you’re blocking the way.”
"Shut up, Malfoy. Nobody's asking you," Angelina said coldly.
Wearing dragon-skin boots and a snow fox cloak, the platinum young master snorted and walked past the group. When he passed the black-haired girl, his steps were particularly heavy—he reached out and pushed open the door of Madam Padif's teahouse, walking in without any hindrance.
"Why was he allowed in?" Arya frowned as she watched the shop assistants enthusiastically help Malfoy take off his cloak.
"Of course, it's because I've booked the whole place." For some reason, the platinum-haired young master, having taken off his cloak, didn't immediately go inside. Instead, he crossed his arms and sneered at the group of Gryffindor and Hufflepuff socialites. "No one, not even those trying to flirt with others, will be allowed in all day today—"
"Why did you do this?" Leila asked suddenly, her face devoid of a smile.
“Because I want to, because I can, because I’m willing,” Draco Malfoy said with a tense expression and a slightly raised chin, in the most arrogant manner. “As long as I don’t want to see anyone who shouldn’t be in this shop, I can do it.”
Cedric and the others found Malfoy's words somewhat strange, but they didn't delve into it and simply walked away in silence.
Before being pulled away by Aria, Lyra glanced back at the young master Platinum. He also had a sullen face, his gray-blue eyes fixed on her without saying a word, yet he seemed to have a thousand words to say.
Leila wasn't bothered by such petty tricks; instead, she felt provoked—even though she had already explained beforehand, this willful young master was still trying to sabotage their friendship.
She didn't care whether he was jealous, a little boy's possessiveness, or simply had too much gold.
Without hesitation, Lyra turned her head, took Arya's arm, and said to the handsome and dashing Cedric beside her in a sweet tone that everyone could hear, "It's okay, we can always make another appointment. Anyway, this place can't be booked by one person forever—"
Completely disregarding how gloomy the platinum young master behind him looked and how bad his mood was after hearing this.
Draco Malfoy had only one thought in his mind at that moment: buy it! This damned lovers' tea house had to be bought right now, and then permanently closed to the public—
That wretched black-haired girl will never be allowed to step into this damned teahouse with any boy in her life—unless it's him.
