Chapter 146 Quidditch World Cup
Chapter 146 Quidditch World Cup
After everyone had just finished dinner, Remus suggested that everyone get ready for bed.
After all, they had to get up very early the next morning because Harry and the others hadn't passed the Apparition test yet, so they had to go to the nearest designated location and use a Portkey to get to the World Cup venue.
Leila felt as if she had just lain down when she was woken up.
Everyone sat at the table in a daze, eating oatmeal and fried eggs with sausages—Remus's cooking. If it were Sirius, they would only be able to eat leftover pizza from the previous day.
Leila, Fred, and George had even darker dark circles under their eyes; the three of them had spent a lot of time last night planning how to sell their homemade prank products during the World Cup, staying up later than everyone else.
“Dad said he, Bill, Charlie, and Percy will meet us directly at the World Cup camp,” Ron said enviously as he sliced an egg. “They can all Apparate, so they can sleep until noon!”
Fred and George had already introduced Apparition to Lyra. Once you learn it, you can travel from one place to another in the blink of an eye, which is extremely convenient.
Unfortunately, Hogwarts wouldn't start its curriculum until seventh year, and Lyra took a disappointed bite of the sausage.
After breakfast, Sirius and Remus brought out several flying brooms, and the boys immediately cheered.
Last night they had to choose between walking or riding brooms to the nearby valley, and everyone firmly voted for the flying brooms.
Needless to say, all the boys thought they were flying experts—even Ron, who wasn't on the Quidditch team.
The girls weren't too keen on walking, and with Sirius and Remus supervising them the whole time (mainly Remus), they could both take people with them.
"bring it on!"
Who do you choose?
Fred and George were already on their brooms, laughing and hovering around Lyra, flying low, but both of them reached out to Lyra.
Harry really wanted to invite Lyra to ride on his broomstick; he was very confident in his flying abilities, but...
Harry glanced at Lyra discreetly, then lowered his gaze.
Fred and George are Lyra's best friends. With the twins around, Lyra would never get on someone else's broom.
Ron, perched on his broom, looked at Hermione standing to the side, seemingly wanting to say something but then stopping himself.
“Uh, Harry can take you, but if you’d like, I can too…” Ron glanced quickly at Harry, “Of course, Harry’s a Seeker, his skills are undeniable, you definitely…”
Before Ron could finish speaking, Hermione placed her hand on his shoulder, and Ron froze.
“Let’s go.” Hermione leaned on Ron’s shoulder and sat behind him. “Remus has already left with Ginny; let’s follow them—”
Hermione's voice was a little softer than usual, but she tried to keep her facial expression natural.
Harry was already flying because all the girls had chosen their brooms.
Lyra was sitting behind Sirius, urging him to speed up and shake off Fred and George!
"Quick! We have to be number one!" Lyra made a face at the twins, "Leave everyone behind—"
“Hey, buddy, you didn’t pick me—” Fred flew steadily to Sirius’s left.
“I can understand why you didn’t choose Fred,” George said with a grin, flying to Sirius’s right, “but it’s wrong of you not to choose me—”
"I'm not choosing either of you!" Leila yelled. "I'm not stupid; you two are definitely going to try and scare me on the way here—"
The wind and sunshine were just right, and everyone chatted and laughed all the way, soon arriving at the outskirts of Hogsmeade.
Sirius put all the brooms into an inconspicuous black backpack, but clearly, a backpack that could hold six flying brooms must have been equipped with valuable spatial magic.
Remus quickly found the key to the door, which was a worn-out shepherd's flute.
“Just place your finger on the key,” Remus said. “Ready—”
"Three...two...one..."
It was as if a hook had snagged everyone's belly button, and everyone's feet left the ground, spinning and flying. The speed was so fast that people kept bumping into each other, and the wind was so strong that it was almost impossible to open one's eyes.
Just as Leila felt her body was about to be torn in two by the wind, she landed on the ground.
When I opened my eyes, I found that everyone was disheveled, looking as if they had been hit by a tornado.
But soon, everyone cheered up—the camp was bustling with activity, with wizards from all over the world gathered together, numbering at least tens of thousands, representing all skin colors and languages, and each tent had its own unique characteristics.
Some tents had strange chimneys added to them, while others had weather vanes. Lyra had just passed by a tent covered in dreamcatchers.
“This must be a foreign wizard’s tent,” Hermione said, pointing to a pyramid-shaped tent. “There’s also a cobra statue next to it; it’s probably from Arabia—”
"Look, a flying carpet!" Harry exclaimed in surprise. "Why don't we ride the flying carpet over here? It's definitely much better than using the Portkey—"
“Because it’s illegal to use flying carpets in the UK,” Remus explained with a smile. “Flying carpets have been banned since I was a child.”
“Our place is over there—” Sirius pulled a tent out of his backpack. “Boys, give us a hand.”
Among the boys, Remus and the twins were both skilled with handicrafts. Soon, the group figured out the positions of the poles and screws, and a silk tent with a garden was set up.
What appears to be a delicate two-person tent on the outside is actually a large tent with ten luxurious bedrooms inside, including a living room, a kitchen, a billiards room, and a bathroom.
After visiting the magical tents, everyone eagerly began to explore the camp, which not only housed wizards from all over the world but also merchants from around the globe looking to make a fortune!
Rows of small carts were filled with all sorts of strange and unusual things—
There are glowing rose badges that call out the names of different Quidditch players; there are oddly shaped hats; there are panoramic binoculars that can replay images...
Sirius bought everyone a pair of binoculars, which couldn't be more convenient for watching the game.
There are also miniature models of various popular sports stars that can walk around in the palm of your hand, just like they're alive.
Leila was very interested, so she bought a miniature model of Bulgarian Seeker Viktor Krum, intending to study it and see if she could find the secret to making the model so lifelike.
“This is definitely a trade secret,” Fred said. “We will also keep the core magic of the product a secret in the future.”
The twins had already pulled out their notebooks and were jotting down new ideas. Their plan was to visit all the stalls and then find an opportunity to sell their prank products.
"Lyra?" a surprised voice rang out.
Cedric Diggory waved enthusiastically to Leila from a short distance away, then strode over.
Fred and George's faces immediately turned the same color as the Irish team's shamrock badge.
