Chapter 76 The Curse Disappears

"Alright, take us to Fury." Shendu's voice rang in Steve's ears.

"Yes," Steve replied, bowing his head without any emotion.

Thor looked at the Holy Lord before him, who once again exuded that aura of a superior being. Just who was he?

The three followed Steve into S.H.I.E.L.D., and the journey was smooth sailing.

As Fury watched Steve blankly lead three cosmic invaders into S.H.I.E.L.D. from his office, he sensed something was wrong. He immediately realized that Steve was being controlled by the man in the green suit.

"Chief, sending a captain to deal with us so early in the morning, you seem to be quite unfriendly."

Steve opened the door, and the Holy Lord's voice echoed in the room: "However, you seem too arrogant to think that a mere Captain America can deal with us."

Fury stared coldly at Shendu, his fingers rubbing a gem in his pocket. "The people of the main universe are truly lawless; are they trying to swallow up this timeline already?!"

The Holy Lord remained silent, and Thor explained, "You're overthinking it. We have no intention of invading. This timeline has already been eroded; we're here to save you."

"Salvation?" Fury scoffed. "Is this the kind of rescue you're talking about? I don't know how you control Steve, but your methods won't work on me."

Fury took the gem from his pocket, placed it in his other empty eye socket, and then covered it with the eyepatch.

Shendu raised an eyebrow: "The Mind Stone again? Is Fury in this timeline also unable to resist the temptation of the Mind Stone?"

Upon hearing Shendu's words, Thor asked, "Oh? Fury in the main universe also died because he couldn't resist the temptation of the gems?"

Shendu smiled noncommittally, and Thor, realizing that Shendu had completely taken control of the Mind Stone, said, "It seems that Fury's death in the main universe is indeed related to you."

"You want to betray us now?" the Holy Lord said with a smile. "You can try."

Thor summoned Mjolnir, glanced at the bull rune on it, and said with a complicated expression, "Fine, the people of Kamar-Taj believe you. This timeline is related to the main universe. Fury here was tempted, which is the same as Fury in the main universe reaping what he sowed."

"Guys, this is not the time for reminiscing. Look at your current situation."

The light of the Mind Stone emanated from Fury's eye sockets, and a large group of agents suddenly burst into the office. Natasha came to Fury's side to receive the baptism of the Mind Stone.

"Their minds are unaffected now. You're going to be finished here." Fury commanded, "Go! Take care of them!"

Following Fury's orders, the agents rushed towards the three, including Natasha, in the center of the room. The rabbit brand on their foreheads glowed faintly as they moved swiftly through the room.

Thor raised his hammer, lightning flashing on its head: "Watch out, I'm about to completely blast this room to smithereens!"

Wanda unleashed chaotic magic, but its target wasn't the rapidly moving agents around her; instead, it was Thor's hammer that created a barrier to keep the agents out.

"What are you doing!" Thor said coldly to Wanda. "Do you know what's going on here?!"

"Calm down, child. These ants can't possibly threaten us." The Holy Lord patted Thor on the shoulder. The composure of the Trinity gave Thor immense peace of mind, a peace he had never experienced even from Odin.

The power of the Mind Stone from the main universe erupted from Shendu, instantly spreading throughout the room and merging with the power emanating from Fury.

Fury sneered, "The Infinity Stones are useless in a universe that doesn't belong to them. Don't you even understand this most basic principle?"

The Holy Lord ignored Fury's taunts, his face still showing disdain. Before long, Fury sensed something was wrong, and his previously confident expression instantly changed.

The man before them was not using the power of the Mind Stone, but his own power. He had absorbed the Mind Stone and made it entirely his own.

"How is this possible!" Fury felt his worldview was greatly shocked. How could the power of the Infinity Stones be absorbed?

"It's just that your understanding is too shallow." Wanda was very satisfied with Fury's reaction: "Nothing is impossible in front of the master."

Thor looked at Wanda's proud face and wondered if he should complain. This woman's feelings for the Holy Lord seemed to be more than just worship.

The Holy Lord raised his hand, and dark magic emerged from his palm, spreading throughout the room. The agents who were moving rapidly seemed to have received some kind of order, and just like Steve before them, they all stopped moving.

Fury felt a chill run through him as he watched this scene. It was all over. He had just felt the sudden surge of power from the Holy Lord, and a sense of submission rose from the depths of his heart. Fortunately, the Mind Stone was with him, allowing him to remain conscious.

"Natasha, finish him off!" Fury continued, undeterred. "With God's grace, no one on Earth is your match."

However, only silence answered him. The Holy Lord did not speak, but his majestic voice exploded in Fury's heart: "Insect, do you think you can use my power against me?"

Shendu recalled the words of a man called "Old Man": "Only magic can defeat magic." Fury was now completely incapable of posing any threat to Shendu.

"Control him!" the Holy Lord commanded.

The agents, who had been immobilized, were released and rushed towards Fury to subdue him. Shendu, meanwhile, walked towards Fury unhurriedly.

"What are you going to do?" Fury glanced at the safe beside him. "Do you even know who's protecting this planet?"

The Holy Lord ignored Fury, raised his hand, lifted his eye sockets, and removed the Mind Stone from inside.

The Holy Lord looked the gem up and down, a smile involuntarily creeping onto his lips. He handed the gem to Wanda: "What did you sense?"

Wanda held the gem in both hands, and chaotic magic spread across it: "It has the aura of its master, very strong, as if it exists for its master."

The Holy Lord nodded in satisfaction. He was becoming increasingly interested in this timeline, as even the Infinity Stones bore his presence.

The Holy Lord will summon a magic circle to absorb the Mind Gem into his body. The absorption of the gem is exceptionally smooth, without any obstruction, and even the expected observer does not appear.

"Congratulations, Master, on regaining a portion of your power." Wanda knelt on one knee respectfully and said, "If Master doesn't mind, Wanda is willing to follow you!"

The Holy Lord felt the changes within his body. No new power appeared, but the curse placed on the Mind Stone by the Observer that he had absorbed from the main universe was completely gone. Now he could use the power of the gem and the talismans blessed by the gem without any worries.

"In that case," the Holy Lord said, looking up at the distant sky, "I'll reserve all the gems on this timeline."
