One Piece: The sky is azure, I just time-traveled today.
Author: Meteor from Snow God Mountain
Synopsis: [To make up for some regrets in the original work! An adventure! Traveling through the world of One Piece!]
[Deviating from the original work, Cloud Pirates!]
Transmigrating to the world of One Piece, Liu Jiu became the most inconspicuous rookie on Roger's ship, responsible for wiping the floor. The Marineford War? The battle for the Four Emperors? What do I care! I'll just stay in a corner and watch the show quietly.
Until one day, my daily routine was disrupted by three troublemakers—a future revolutionary army strategist, the world's greatest female swordsman, and a devil's son who can decipher the Poneglyphs.
Looking at my hungry babies, I sighed and was forced to get back to work.
Navy hero Garp wants people? Without a single Shichibukai spot, forget about it! The Four Emperors? My full Haki will intimidate everyone! A Celestial Dragon dares to be arrogant? I'll just rip up Mary Geoise!
While Luffy was still playing in the mud in the East Blue, my crew had already swept across the Grand Line.
Chapter 1: Boarding Roger's Ship
[Attention, friends coming in! This is where you store your brain capacity. Remember to take it with you when you leave!]
The kind of blue that's dazzling.
The salty sea breeze, carrying a fishy smell, forcefully burrowed into my nostrils. Beneath me was a rough wooden plank, swaying gently with the waves, creaking and groaning.
Liu Jiu blinked.
The sun was so strong that it made his eyes sting.
He propped himself up on his arms, getting sawdust all over himself. He patted it off, but it wouldn't come off, so he just let it be.
My mind was blank. The last image I saw was the cold light of the computer screen at three in the morning, and the message "Link expired, add me for a re-upload."
And then? That's it.
It's like someone cut off a piece of film.
Hey! You over there! What are you spacing out for! Come over here and help pull up the sail!
A rough, grating sound came crashing down.
A dark-skinned man in a tattered undershirt glared at him, his yellow teeth gleaming, sweat dripping down his muscular chest. Around him were several other men dressed similarly, straining and pulling on a thick cable.
This scene looks familiar.
It looks too familiar.
"I'm talking to you! Newcomer! Don't think you can slack off just because you're on Roger's ship!" the yellow-toothed man roared again, spittle flying everywhere in the sunlight.
Gol D. Roger?
Liu Jiu looked down at the coarse cloth clothes he had changed into at some point, then raised his hand to touch his face.
He slowly stood up, walked over to the group of people, and, imitating them, grabbed a taut rope. The rough hemp rope rubbed against his palms, causing a slight pain.
The sea breeze grew stronger, billowing the huge sails and making a rustling sound.
This ship is huge.
"Hey, newbie, scared out of your wits?" A younger guy next to him leaned over, winking. "Don't worry, you'll get used to it! It's thrilling following Captain Roger!"
Liu Jiu didn't respond.
He squinted, looking towards the bow of the ship.
At the far end of the deck, a tall man wearing a straw hat stood with his hands on his hips, laughing loudly at the vast, boundless sea. His laughter was extremely penetrating, carrying an almost arrogant confidence and freedom.
"Hahahaha! Do you see that, Rayleigh? A new route is just ahead!"
Beside him, a man with long blond hair and a composed demeanor pushed up his glasses, a helpless yet indulgent smile playing on his lips.
One Piece. The game starts right at the final stage.
Liu Jiu looked away and down at his finger joints, which were slightly white from exertion.
There was no system notification sound.
There is no new player gift pack.
There was no weeping or wild jubilation.
He was just thinking that he hadn't finished watching the anime he stayed up all night watching the day before yesterday.
The rope tightened suddenly, the boat tilted, and it accelerated, breaking through the azure sea and splashing up white waves.
The captain, still wearing a straw hat, was laughing, his voice carried on the wind across the deck.
"Men! Speed up! Treasure and adventure await us!"
A chorus of excited howls erupted from the surrounding area.
Liu Jiu then tugged on the rope.
I don't know if the movements are standard or not.
Anyway, nobody cares.
He exhaled softly, his breath mingling with the salty sea breeze and quickly dissipating.
Since we're already here, why not make the best of it?
He just felt that since he was already here, he might as well have come.
Well then, let's take a look.
The ship tilted sharply to the right.
The wooden barrels on the deck rolled to one side with a gurgling sound, and several sailors who lost their footing fell flat on their faces.
"Hard to port! Avoid that whirlpool!"
Rayleigh's voice remained steady, but he spoke much faster.
Liu Jiu instinctively hugged the mast beside him. The rough wood pressed against his chest, causing real pain.
He looked up.
The once calm and azure sea had suddenly become a gigantic, dark blue whirlpool. The water swirled wildly, like a greedy maw trying to swallow the entire ship. The depths of the whirlpool were dark and chilling to the bone.
"Hahaha! That's awesome!"
The figure wearing a straw hat at the bow of the boat was not afraid at all; instead, he laughed even more heartily, his straw hat being blown backward by the wind.
Only those two words remained in Liu Jiu's mind.
He clung tightly to the mast, his knuckles turning white. His stomach churned; he wasn't sure if it was seasickness or something else.
A wave crashed onto the deck, drenching him with icy seawater. It was salty, astringent, and had a fishy smell.
He wiped his face.
The yellow-toothed man next to him, while struggling to turn the rudder, still managed to grin at him: "Scared? Kid! That's the temperament of the sea!"
Liu Jiu remained silent.
I'm not so much scared, it's just that... it felt quite sudden.
One second they're cursing over broken resources, the next they're risking their lives on a pirate ship. This life-changing turn is even more dramatic than the ship's rudder turning.
Under Raleigh's precise command and the crew's frantic maneuvering, the ship creaked and groaned as it narrowly missed the edge of the whirlpool.
The immense centrifugal force made Liu Jiu feel as if his internal organs had shifted.
The ship finally regained its stability.
The deck was a mess, but no one complained. Instead, cheers of relief and even more vulgar laughter and curses erupted.
Liu Jiu loosened the mast, his palms reddened from being rubbed by the rough bark.
He looked down.
He looked up again at the straw-hatted man standing at the bow of the boat, his back still straight.
The sunlight returned, and the sea calmed down somewhat. Only the receding whirlpool behind the stern proved that the thrill just now was not an illusion.
A sailor handed him a wooden cup containing a murky liquid.
"Have some to calm your nerves!"
Liu Jiu took it but didn't drink it.
Seawater dripped from the ends of his hair, falling onto the deck and quickly spreading into a small patch of dark color.
He raised his hand and used the still relatively dry back of his hand to wipe the water droplets from his chin.
It's even a bit slow.
It's as if that frantic run that brushed past death was just a fleeting, unreal interlude in the afternoon.
He brought the wooden cup to his nose and smelled it.
It has a pungent smell of cheap rum.
He frowned and placed the cup at his feet.
Let's just stay thirsty.
The setting sun dyed the sea a warm orange hue.
After a long day of commotion, the boat finally quieted down. The air was filled with the rough aroma of food, mixed with the smell of sweat and the saltiness of evaporated seawater.
A large cauldron was set up in the middle of the deck, containing a mushy substance of questionable color. Next to it was a pile of bread as hard as bricks.
The crew sat in a circle, making a lot of noise, eating with their hands, juice dripping down their fingers.
Liu Jiu found a seat on the side and sat down.
No one gave him cutlery.
He looked at his hands; they were fairly clean.
He reached into the pot and scooped a handful. Sticky and hot. He blew on it and put it in his mouth.
The taste... is hard to describe. Salty, fishy, and with an indescribable spice flavor.
Is this the treatment for new recruits? Or the treatment for low-ranking sailors?
