I'm the Great Pirate, and I'm waging the Holy Grail War!

Chapter 36 Landing in Loguetown, the King Returns Home

Chapter 36 Landing in Loguetown, the King Returns Home

The Going Merry slowly entered the port of Loguetown, where people came and went, and the noise was still there.

Seagulls cried out, and the sea breeze carried a familiar scent.

"Wow! We're finally here! Meat! I want to eat meat!" Luffy shouted excitedly from the bow of the ship.

His stomach rumbled loudly, attracting the attention of everyone at the dock.

Some fishermen, seeing the figure in the straw hat, took a deep breath and began to whisper among themselves.

"Hey...look at this guy...isn't he the Straw Hat Luffy who summoned the Pirate King?"

"It seems so, it's exactly the same as the bounty poster..."

Hearing the commotion, the navy guards on the dock also cast scrutinizing glances.

Apart from Luffy and Roger, the Straw Hat crew members were completely disheartened.

Seeing Luffy still shouting, they threw themselves at him and tackled him to the ground.

"Luffy! Keep your voice down! Do you want to attract the entire Marines?!" Usopp said nervously, lowering his voice and looking around.

Then, Sanji said to the fishermen with an embarrassed smile, "Hahaha...you all got it wrong. My captain's name is Lucy, and he looks completely different from that Straw Hat Luffy."

When Luffy peeked out again, he was covered in bruises and swelling.

The fishermen nodded earnestly: "I see, we were mistaken. We thought the Pirate King was coming back..."

Usopp finally breathed a sigh of relief and wiped away non-existent cold sweat from his forehead.

"Phew... Nami, this place is too dangerous. Let's just leave..."

Nami, holding the Log Pose and nautical chart, frowned: "This is the only way to the Grand Line, and we need to replenish our supplies. But I also feel that the atmosphere here... something feels off."

Her navigator instincts told her that danger was brewing.

Sanji lit a cigarette and elegantly exhaled a smoke ring: "Nami-san's intuition is always right. But the stomach problem comes first; without enough supplies, we can't fill these two bottomless pits."

He glanced at the captain and his "new partner".

Zoro, holding three swords, leaned against the ship's railing, his sharp gaze sweeping over the dock guards and the towering execution platform in the distance.

He said in a deep voice, "The killing intent... is faint, but it's definitely there. And there's more than one."

Roger sat cross-legged on the deck, munching on an apple, a signature hearty smile on his face.

He seemed completely oblivious to the tension of his companions around him.

As his deep eyes gazed toward the town center, toward the execution platform that had ended his legendary life, a complex and indescribable light flashed across his face.

"Loguetown..." Roger's voice carried a hint of distant emotion, as if he were talking to himself.

It's as if it's whispering to this land: "It really hasn't changed at all."

He stood up and slowly walked towards the bow of the ship.

When Nami and Usopp saw him trying to show themselves, their eyes widened in disbelief, their tongues trembled, and their eyeballs almost popped out of their sockets.

"Uncle Roger! Didn't you say you could become a spirit? Don't show yourself in front of them!"

Roger didn't turn around, his signature smile unchanged: "Spirit form? No way! I've finally come back, I should really enjoy this experience."

He walked over to Luffy at the bow of the ship and patted the straw-hatted boy on the shoulder: "Hey kid, that's where I last stood back then."

He pointed to the execution platform, his tone as relaxed as if he were talking about someone else's story.

Luffy looked in the direction he was pointing, his eyes sparkling: "Oh! Is that it?! The place where the Pirate King was executed! How cool! I want to see it too!"

"Hahaha! Of course I'll go!" Roger laughed, a deep look in his eyes.

"It feels so strange to be back here. Everything is so familiar, yet it's like looking through a pane of glass."

He was summoned as a heroic spirit, possessing memories and emotions from his previous life, but also examining the past from a detached perspective.

Stepping onto this land, those long-forgotten memories surged forth like a tide.

The youthful exuberance, the boundless ambition of the final voyage, and the absurd ending after learning the truth.

Finally, the moment he looked down upon all living beings from the execution platform, announcing the start of the Great Pirate Era... and the unwavering composure at the end of his life.

Now, he returns as a follower, like a ghost returning to its old home, familiar yet strange, intimate yet distant.

"Look!!! It's Roger! It really is the Pirate King Roger!"

His thoughts were interrupted by a heart-wrenching scream, which then rose and fell, growing increasingly noisy until it was completely out of control.

"It's the Pirate King!!! He's back!"

The large number of naval personnel stationed there were on high alert, and amidst the commotion, sweat poured down their faces like rain.

They raised their guns, but no matter what they did, they couldn't pull the trigger, because that guy was the Pirate King!

Roger looked around, his gaze sweeping over the townspeople who looked at him with awe, fear, curiosity, and fervor, but a slow, bold, and slightly self-deprecating smile crept onto his lips.

"Loguetown! I'm back!!!"

Nami didn't want to say anything more. She stared at Roger like a stone statue, watching his seemingly troublesome demeanor.

Looking at Luffy beside her, who was still grinning foolishly and without a care in the world, she felt a wave of helplessness wash over her.

"These two guys... one looks like they're here for tourism, and the other looks like they're here to... sweep a grave? The contrast is too big!"

Sanji lit a cigarette, watching Roger's tall, straight back, and muttered, "After all, he's someone who's died once. Going back to the place where he died... it must feel really strange. Hey, Moss Head, can you understand?"

Zoro, clutching his three swords, scanned the seemingly peaceful street with sharp eyes: "I only sense many malicious gazes. The Navy... has already laid a trap."

He gripped the hilt of his knife tightly: "We're a giant target right now."

Usopp trembled, "I...I told you not to come! Uncle Roger! Your bounty is so many times higher than Luffy's! This place is definitely a den of dragons and tigers!"

Upon hearing this, Roger burst into laughter, the sound of which made the air vibrate and instantly dispelled the previous gloom.

"Hahaha! You're right, kid! Since they're targets, let them aim! I'm the Pirate King!"

His eyes blazed with an aura of dominance that seemed to emanate from him, and the kingly aura spread outwards as if it were a tangible force, causing many who were secretly watching to turn pale instantly and instinctively retreat.

They had lost all courage and could only silently take out their Den Den Mushi (electric slugs).

Amidst the swirling smoke, Smoker irritably stubbed out his cigar in the ashtray. His Den Den Mushi was practically exploding with calls, all coming in with tense reports from various sentry posts.

"Target confirmed!" "The entire Straw Hat crew is present!" "Gol D. Roger... is about to land!"

"Continue the surveillance! Do not make any moves without orders!" Smoker's forehead veins bulged. He turned sharply to the two people sitting in the center of the room.

A tall man, dressed in a white suit vest and dark blue shirt, wearing an eye mask, leaned lazily against the back of his chair, as if he might fall asleep at any moment.

It was Admiral Aokiji who was ordered by the Sengoku period to wait here for his prey.

The other man had white hair and beard, and his rugged face was clouded with gloom.

He sat upright with his arms crossed and eyes closed, but when he heard the news of Roger's arrival, his eyes opened and revealed a resolute look.

It was Garp, the naval hero who had been waiting there for so long, who was there.

"Lieutenant General Garp! Admiral Kuzan!" Smoker's voice trembled slightly. "The target has been spotted!"

The gloom on Garp's face disappeared, replaced by an excited smile.

"Has he finally arrived... Roger?"
