Chapter 65: Halloween Night of the Soul
Chapter 65: Halloween Night of the Soul
"Damn it!"
Spider-Man shot out a web that stuck to a street lamp, then pulled himself over with his arm.
After landing on the streetlight, Spider-Man crouched on top of it and then gently pressed down on the lamp with both hands.
With a bang.
He was launched out like a bullet.
The streetlight suddenly emitted a violent tremor.
"You have to be alright, Harry."
Spider-Man whispered, then spotted a familiar white police car on the road not far below.
After a moment's thought, Spider-Man released his webs, jumped onto the carport, and then, like a spider, climbed to the car door and knocked on the window.
The car window was opened.
The passenger was still his familiar father-in-law, Officer George Stacy.
"I thought you weren't going to show up tonight."
"Feel sorry."
Spider-Man asked, "What's going on now?"
Sometimes, you have to admit that when an extraordinary person joins the team, the impact they can have is enormous.
Long ago, George once thought he would catch Spider-Man.
But the Lizard Man incident and other dangerous cases, big and small, didn't seem so difficult after Spider-Man got involved.
Regardless, George still chose to exchange information with Spider-Man.
"It's probably aimed at your friend. This young master has offended someone, and several bombings have occurred near him."
"As far as we know, those who carried out the explosion used the same methods as that person from this morning... what was his name again?"
"Terrifying," Spider-Man added.
"Yeah, terrifying, what kind of weird name is that?"
George frowned and said, "They're using the same equipment, but their proficiency is questionable. Our police have already arrested one of them."
George glanced at Spider-Man's large, white compound eyes.
The design of these spider compound eyes is really good; when you look into these eyes, you will feel a unique sense of intimacy.
George continued, "Honestly, if I hadn't carefully considered it, I would have even suspected that this was a show directed and acted by Harry Osborn specifically to boost his fame."
Spider-Man sighed and said definitively, "He's not that kind of person."
"Perhaps. I have no interest in asking more about your relationship with him. Because of you, I choose to believe him for now."
George said, "But he can't escape responsibility after things are resolved tonight, because those devices are genuine Osborn products."
Spider-Man nodded; his spider-sense had already subtly alerted him to impending danger on a nearby street.
"I'm leaving now."
"no problem."
After watching Spider-Man leave, George closed the car window.
For a fleeting moment, he even felt that the Spider-Man in front of him was a boy he knew.
He has a close relationship with Harry Osborn.
According to his beloved daughter, Peter Parker was also a close friend of Harry Osborn.
If he hadn't just called to confirm that the kid was indeed on Coney Island, he would most likely have actually believed that the person behind the mask was Peter Parker.
......
My name is Jim Cortes.
I used to be a criminal, but now I have regained my freedom.
The guys who got me out of prison claimed to be from the Osborn Group.
After they got me out, they didn't ask me to pay anything of value. I mean, I'm not some scientist, just a guy who failed to rob a bank and ended up in jail. What value could I possibly offer them?
And even if they asked, I couldn't afford it.
They provided me with a set of high-tech gloves.
They told me that all I had to do was create a few explosions for them on Halloween night.
After it's all done, there will be plenty of money.
Yes, I know. Maybe I'm just incredibly lucky. Otherwise, I would have given this wonderful job to you all.
Then Halloween came.
I discovered that I wasn't the only one who had obtained the device.
One of them was even more skilled than me!
He even named himself "Horror"!
What an awful name.
Okay, let's not dwell on his name. I know this is a conspiracy, a conspiracy about someone.
But it's okay, I'm just following orders.
because......
Where did the spider silk come from?
With a bang.
Jim fell asleep during the jump and slept soundly.
Like a sleeping beauty, he was held by Spider-Man and then jumped under a street lamp.
Spider-Man removed the guy's vibration device, then strapped him to a lamppost, notified the police, and left.
There is more than one person like Jim in this city.
More than one person was shocked.
Fortunately, these people are far less terrifying than the real thing; they could even be described as pleasant surprises.
Spider-Man flicked his wrist and swung away on his webs.
On the rooftop not far from him, a graceful figure in white arrived late.
Gwen jumped onto the rooftop, ran a few steps, and seemed unable to stop herself.
Then she bent down slightly, lifted her mask, and revealed her delicate, fair chin.
He rested his hands on his knees and was breathing softly through his nose.
The next moment, a black raven appeared on her shoulder.
"Don't ever tell me the mask is stuffy, I've heard that so many times." Oz glanced at the girl sideways.
Gwen was genuinely having trouble breathing because of the excitement that was stirring within her heart.
She glanced at Oz with an embarrassed expression. "It's really boring!"
Oz covered his ears with his wings, choosing to ignore it.
Indeed, Peter Parker is the real Spider-Man.
In this universe, Gwen's initial proficiency with the spider powers she stole from the spider totem was nowhere near as high as Peter's when he first acquired them.
The latter seems born for this, a genius beyond compare! (Oh~ my little rascal~)
And Gwen...
"What's with that look of disdain?! I'm still a newbie, you know!" the girl snapped angrily.
"Mmmmmm..."
Oz nodded perfunctorily.
Once she could breathe easily, Gwen pulled down her mask and took a few more steps forward, looking at the criminal Peter had easily dealt with.
Her boyfriend truly lives up to the name Spider-Man! (So proud!)
If she hadn't experienced it firsthand, she wouldn't have known that spider abilities were so troublesome!
It's nothing like how effortlessly it looks on TV!
Recalling the moment when her hand was stuck to the wall and she couldn't get it out, she felt terrible!
Gwen couldn't help but ask, "Was Peter like this before?"
Oz had a cup of milk tea tied to his body.
It was bought for him by his little rascal—QQneinei is so delicious, it's like a milk tea.
He took a sip through his straw and replied:
"Well... at first, I was probably like you. After all, I arrived late and hadn't seen them before."
"Is that so?" Gwen said thoughtfully. She had thought Peter was born with that skill.
"But he became much more skilled than you after that," Oz added.
Gwen sighed, seemingly already imagining Peter's situation.
Truly excellent.
She thought so.
It's still my boyfriend.
She was even happier.
"What are you standing there for? Go deal with the other criminals! Wow! You're the most dawdling Spider-Man I've ever seen!" Oz muttered.
Well, at this moment she felt a little like punching the crow.
