Chapter 67 You've Arrived, Ellie
Chapter 67 You've Arrived, Ellie
Being struck by a stun spell and then waking up feels completely different from waking up from a good night's sleep. When Lucas opened his eyes, he felt groggy and had a splitting headache.
And yet, there are still many voices chattering around.
"...Miss Ellie McFastie, how could you—" This was Hannah.
"I really didn't mean it! When Lucas was lying on the ground, I thought this woman was attacking Lucas!" This was Ellie.
"Alright, I've already used the counter-spell 'Quick Resurrection,' and Lucas will wake up immediately. Also, my name is Tonks, not 'this woman.'" This is Tonks. "And I'm giving a spell lesson, not attacking Lucas!"
"Aha! Three women make a show, let's fight, let's fight! Fuck them, hahahaha!" That's Pepper.
Lucas felt like his head was about to explode. He opened his eyes and struggled to shout, "I'm okay, I'm awake!"
Several faces suddenly crowded around Lucas.
He spotted those tense, beautiful purple eyes at a glance.
"Ellie, you're here."
From mid-air came Pepper's imitation of a trumpet: "Bang bang bang~ Our prince has finally awakened! The first thing he saw was his princess, and the first thing he called out was her name!"
"Alright, Princess Ellie, you can fucking kiss Prince Lucas now. Everyone else, you can fucking go to hell!"
"Shut up, Pepper!" Lucas and Tonks shouted at the same time, while Hannah glared at it.
"When did you get such a mischievous bird?" Ellie asked.
"Just about two weeks ago." Lucas propped himself up, rubbing his temples. "A lot has happened in that time, Ellie."
"Yes," Ellie said, her eyes wide as she stared intently at Lucas. "There's just too much going on, so much that you've forgotten your promise and won't even reply to a single letter!"
Lucas was about to explain that he had come to Diagon Alley almost immediately after returning home and had not received any letter from Ellie. He was also busy with so many things happening in Diagon Alley that he had forgotten about this possibility when he saw Ellie suddenly approaching him.
"Besides, I've already sent you a yelling letter, and you still haven't replied!"
Wait! Lucas was stunned.
So you need to reply to a shouting message? How could I have forgotten?
He could only raise his hands: "I was wrong, Ellie. But didn't you hit me hard too? We're even now, okay?"
Ellie plopped down next to Lucas, looking at the smiling red-haired boy leaning against the headboard, his golden-brown high ponytail swinging, and pursing his full, raspberry-like lips.
"Okay. I apologize to you too, I really didn't mean it, Lucas."
Lucas smiled even more broadly, feeling that his headache had lessened considerably.
"It's okay, Ellie. I know."
Pepper loosened the wing covering the bird's beak and said in a low voice, "Does anyone think we're superfluous here? Yes, that's right, I'm talking about you two! Hannah, Tonks, stop standing here and bothering this scumbag couple, okay?"
With a loud bang, Pepper got what she wanted and was tied up with rope by Tonks again. However, since she didn't curse too filthyly this time, she wasn't made to experience the windmill again.
"Lucas, are you really alright?" Hannah asked worriedly. "I almost thought you were going to be sent to St. Mungo's."
"It's alright, Tonks' counter-curse worked very well." Lucas smiled. "I just need to rest a bit more, I'm not so dizzy anymore."
"It's good that you're alright," Tonks said, turning to Ellie with a smile. "Miss MacFastie... that's a bit of a mouthful. Since you're also Lucas's friend, would you mind if I just called you Ellie? I must say, that Stunning Charm you cast was beautiful!"
"That was the final lesson in Standard Spells, Level Three. For a little wizard who hasn't even started school yet to succeed, it's truly remarkable. Honestly, are all young wizards this talented these days? I feel so much pressure..."
Lucas was also taken aback. Was it a level three spell that was almost level four? Ellie's progress was too fast!
Ellie was confused: "What level three? This is a spell my dad taught me, it's a spell we use often."
She paused for a moment, then continued, "But this time it was an exceptional performance; I haven't been able to succeed very often before."
Lucas gave a wry smile. "We finally succeeded once, and now they're using it on me?"
Tonks understood: "The stronger the wizard's 'desire,' the greater the power of the spell, and the higher the chance of success. It seems you really wanted to kill me back then."
She raised an eyebrow: "With the first success, you'll be able to master it quickly."
Hannah sat on a stool in the room, watching Tonks, Ellie, and Lucas chat enthusiastically about spells. Her two braids hung down as she gripped her wand tightly.
Should I also study some of these things seriously?
"I was hoping to do some real combat practice, but it looks like that's not possible now. You need to rest." Tonks became excited again. "Lucas, I still have to say, your wrist technique is absolutely amazing!"
"You're an absolute fighting genius! I'm going to find Mr. Moody right now!"
"Lucas, you're a born Auror!"
Tonks stood up and walked away excitedly.
Lucas blinked. "Oh dear, I'm a chef, a chef who became a wizard."
Now it's become, "A wizard who doesn't want to be an Auror isn't a good cook?"
"Lucas, you should get some rest." Hannah hesitated for a moment, then stood up as well. She looked at Ellie, who was sitting next to Lucas, "Miss McFastie..."
"Just call me Ellie," Ellie said. "Lucas, I'll head out now. I'm staying at the Leaky Cauldron too. I have so much to tell you when you wake up."
The room fell silent. Just as Lucas was about to close his eyes, he suddenly heard a mournful wailing coming from the corner.
Oh dear, Pepper is still tied up there experiencing rope bondage!
……
Lucas slept for two hours and finally felt refreshed and fully recovered.
He washed his face, tidied himself up, and went downstairs. He saw Hannah and Ellie playing a game of "Crackling Explosion" cards. The cards sparked as they were swung, and the cards that were eaten by the other player exploded into a dazzling little firework.
Ellie was probably playing this for the first time, shouting and having a great time. Hannah was enthusiastically telling her something, while Tonks circled around them, pointing and giving advice.
"Tonks, you're back so soon?" Lucas sat down at the round table.
"Lucas!" Ellie's purple eyes sparkled with tiny fireworks, her smile radiant. "Hannah is teaching me how to play Bomb! This is so much fun! It's so much more interesting here than on the island."
"Ellie, we can go to the Explosives shop in Diagon Alley together tomorrow!" Hannah happily played two cards, causing an even brighter flash. "They have a club there, you can see lots of different tricks!"
Being the same age, Hannah was innocent and kind, while Ellie was carefree and outgoing. They quickly became friends after playing a few rounds.
Tonks finally got a chance to speak: "Lucas, I met with Mr. Moody, but he said I was too hasty."
