Chapter 26 The Eldest Princess: You go out, Xiao Wuzi come in.
Chunmei left in a hurry again, and the bedchamber returned to silence.
Li Yunrui lay on her side on the soft couch, gazing wistfully at the deep night outside the window.
The complex emotions in her chest were still churning. Ye Qingmei was dead, and she should feel relieved, but there was always an inexplicable sense of frustration stuck in her heart.
She didn't want this feeling.
Ye Qingmei is dead, and she no longer has the chance to defeat Ye Qingmei. Does this mean that she will never be able to defeat Ye Qingmei?
"Xiao Wuzi," Li Yunrui suddenly spoke, his voice indifferent, revealing neither joy nor anger.
Wu Feng immediately stepped forward half a step: "Your Highness."
"Serve me as I bathe." She said, slowly sitting up from the soft couch. Her white robe slipped open slightly with the movement, then she gathered it up again as she raised her hand. "I... want to change my mood now."
Wu Feng bowed his head and replied, "Yes, Your Highness."
He turned and strode out of the bedchamber, first instructing the two maids guarding the outer room to prepare hot water, while he went to fetch fresh flower petals and spices.
In less than fifteen minutes, everything was ready at Xiangshuitang.
When Wu Feng returned to his bedchamber, Li Yunrui was still sitting on the soft couch, one hand supporting her forehead, her long hair cascading down her shoulders like a waterfall.
Hearing footsteps, she looked up.
"Your Highness, the hot water is ready," Wu Feng said softly.
Li Yunrui extended his hand.
Wu Feng stepped forward to support her; her hand was slightly cool, and her fingertips rested on his wrist.
The two walked one after the other towards the fragrant pond deep inside the palace.
Pushing open the carved wooden door, a warm, moist atmosphere carrying a rich fragrance wafted towards me.
The pool was full of water, with a thick layer of bright red rose and pink peony petals floating on the surface, and various precious body fragrances at the bottom.
Li Yunrui stood by the pool, facing Wu Feng, and slowly opened her arms.
Wu Feng took a deep breath, lowered his eyes, and stepped forward. His fingers touched the edge of her collar.
[Ding~ Mood points +80!]
The fabric of his nightgown was very smooth, brushing against his fingertips.
Wu Feng could feel his breathing becoming a little tight. He kept his head down, only daring to look at the hem of her skirt below her waist.
Li Yunrui didn't speak, she just stood there quietly.
The dim candlelight cast a soft glow on her skin, and in the misty steam, her figure was both hazy and clear.
As the last undergarment fell to the ground, Wu Feng quickly turned around, took a bath towel from the shelf next to him, unfolded it, and gently draped it over her shoulders.
"That's enough." Li Yunrui's voice came from behind, with a very faint, almost imperceptible tremor.
Wu Feng took a half step back, his eyes still lowered.
Li Yunrui stepped barefoot into the pool, the warm water washing over her ankles, calves, and waist.
She slowly sat down in the middle of the pool, the water level just reaching her collarbone. Petals swayed with the ripples, half-concealing her in their vibrant colors.
"Well……"
A very soft, satisfied sigh escaped from her lips.
The hot water enveloped her body, allowing her tense nerves, which had been taut all night, to relax slightly.
She closed her eyes, tilted her head back against the edge of the pool, her cheeks flushed with a faint blush, looking delicate and alluring in the misty steam.
Wu Feng stood by the pool, staring down at the tips of his shoes.
Terrible.
"Get down." Li Yunrui suddenly spoke, her voice soft but carrying an undeniable air of authority.
Wu Feng paused for a moment, then said, "...Yes, Your Highness."
He took off his outer shirt and shoes and socks, wearing only his close-fitting trousers, and carefully stepped into the pool.
Wu Feng sat down beside her, an arm's length apart. The pool water rippled, and petals gently brushed against his arm.
"Come closer," she said again.
Wu Feng had no choice but to move closer. Their arms were almost touching, and he could feel the warmth from her skin, as well as her unique scent, a blend of floral and natural fragrance.
Li Yunrui suddenly turned her head to the side and opened her eyes to look at him.
Water droplets clung to her eyelashes, trembling gently with each blink. Her eyes were bright, as if veiled in a layer of watery light in the dim light.
"Little Wuzi," she called softly, her voice carrying a strange tenderness, "what do you think... Ye Qingmei looks like now?"
Wu Feng's Adam's apple bobbed: "Your Highness, I don't want to mention her."
Li Yunrui smiled, a faint smile, yet it made her whole face radiant.
She suddenly reached out and touched Wu Feng's chin with her wet fingertips.
[Ding~ Mood points +100!]
"Are you nervous?" she asked.
Wu Feng froze: "...No."
"You're lying." Li Yunrui withdrew her hand and leaned back against the pool.
Wu Feng subconsciously clenched his fingers.
……
About half an hour later, very light footsteps came from outside the Fragrant Pond and stopped at the door.
"Your Highness?" Chunmei's voice came from behind the door, sounding somewhat hesitant.
Li Yunrui's body trembled slightly.
"Don't come in yet!" Her voice was more urgent than usual, and even had a slight, almost imperceptible tremor.
There was a moment of silence outside the door.
"Yes, Your Highness," Chunmei replied.
[Ding~ Mood points +1600!]
Wu Feng was stunned; the sudden surge of emotions made his heart skip a beat.
The pool water rippled gently, and the petals swirled.
After a few breaths, Li Yunrui finally spoke, his voice still trembling slightly, but he tried his best to remain calm: "That's enough... You can leave now. Let Chunmei... come back in in a quarter of an hour."
Wu Feng immediately stood up: "I understand, Your Highness."
He stepped out of the bath, and water splashed down his body.
After quickly wiping the water off himself, he put on his clothes and walked towards the door without looking back.
When he pushed open the door, Chunmei was standing outside with her hands hanging down. When she saw him come out, a hint of doubt flashed in her eyes.
"Sister Chunmei," Wu Feng lowered his voice, "His Highness said you should wait a quarter of an hour before going in."
Chunmei nodded: "I understand."
Wu Feng said no more and quickly left.
Inside the Fragrant Pond, Li Yunrui slowly opened her eyes only after hearing the door close tightly.
She remained seated in the pool, looking down at the petals floating on the surface, her hands clenching quietly underwater.
Humiliation, excitement, stimulation... a wave of emotions still surged through her body, making every nerve ending tremble.
She bit her lower lip, but couldn't stop the corners of her mouth from curving upwards.
That smile, both eccentric and sickly yet alluring, bloomed on her flushed cheeks.
About fifteen minutes later, Chunmei's gentle voice sounded again from outside the door: "Your Highness, may I come in?"
Li Yunrui loosened her clenched fist, took a deep breath, and let her voice regain its usual calmness: "Come in."
The door was pushed open, and Chunmei walked in: "Your Highness, the news has come back."
"explain."
"They have already brought Ye Qingmei's body into the city, and by now... it's probably already in the palace."
Li Yunrui fell silent.
The suffocating feeling that had finally been dispelled by the hot water and the other stimulation quietly crept back in when the words "Ye Qingmei's corpse" were heard.
She frowned, a hint of annoyance flashing in her eyes.
"I understand." She paused, her voice turning colder. "You leave, and let Xiao Wuzi... come in again."
Chunmei bowed: "Yes, Your Highness."
She went out and gently closed the door behind her.
Standing outside the door, Chunmei pursed her lips and sighed silently in her heart.
Has she really fallen out of favor?
