Chapter 197 Peter the Pettigrew Who Didn't Die
Chapter 197 Peter the Pettigrew Who Didn't Die
It was another day I could go to Hogsmeade Village. Since I had used a lot of potions recently, I planned to buy some potion materials, so I invited Cedric to go shopping with me.
We originally planned to go to Hogsmeade to buy some potion ingredients, but we ended up having afternoon tea at Lady Patiff's Tea House, a popular dating spot.
We entered the teahouse, which was decorated in a warm and romantic style. Many portraits hung on the pink walls, along with some exquisite porcelain and tea sets.
The teahouse was filled with the aroma of tea and pastries, making people feel very comfortable.
We found a corner seat and ordered two matcha cakes, a cup of black tea, and a cup of coffee.
Cedric looked at me and smiled, saying, "You know, this is one of the most popular dating spots for Hogwarts students."
Soon after, our cake, black tea, and coffee were served.
I listened, picked up my coffee, took a sip, and smiled slightly.
"Is it possible that I invited you here today for a date?" I glanced at Cedric with a smile.
“I think so too,” Cedric said with a smile.
The matcha cake looks delicious, covered with a layer of matcha powder, as well as some cream and chocolate sauce.
The aroma of black tea and coffee is delightful, making one feel very comfortable.
We enjoyed the food and chatted as we went.
Cedric shared his experiences of studying and living at Hogwarts with me, and I also shared some of my own experiences and feelings with him.
We had a wonderful chat, and time seemed to stand still at that moment.
Before I knew it, an afternoon had passed.
As we left the teahouse and walked through the streets of Hogsmeade, snowflakes fell on us, but they didn't make us feel cold. Cedric said to me, "Ayers, I'm really happy today."
“Me too.” I smiled at Cedric.
This was the first time Cedric and I went to Madame de Patif's Tea House for afternoon tea together, and it remains one of our fondest memories.
When we returned to the castle, I parted ways with Ced. I needed to go to the library to borrow a book, but I didn't expect to run into Harry on the way, who had come out of the secret passage and was carrying a piece of parchment.
"Ayers, what are you doing here?" Harry didn't expect to run into me as soon as he came out of the secret passage after returning alone.
"Looks like you went to Hogsmeade Village, Harry. Did you encounter any danger?" Seeing the secret passage Harry came out of, I knew where he had gone. I probably knew the secret passages in Hogwarts better than the twins.
“Ayers, you won’t be upset that I went to Hogsmeade Village?” Harry walked up to me and followed me out of the secret passage.
“Harry, I won’t stop you from going anywhere. You know, for me, the only thing I care about is your safety. Safety comes first.” I raised my hand and ruffled Harry’s hair.
"Yes, thank you, Ayers." Harry's heart, which had been chilled by the news he had just heard, was now warmed by Ayers.
As for the godfather I've never met, it's Ayers who's always been good to me and protects me.
"You have to keep that scale with you at all times, you can't let it leave your body, understand?" With the dragon scale on his body, Harry was absolutely protected by me. As long as he didn't hurt himself, he would be fine.
“I know, I’ve always carried it with me.” Harry raised his hand and touched the dragon scale on his chest. He had always carried this scale, which had always kept him warm, just like Ayers.
As we walked, we said goodbye and parted ways. Harry went back to his Gryffindor common room, while I went to the library.
That night, Harry was alone in his bed studying the Marauder's Map. He was eating snacks while watching what the people on the map were doing.
He was surprised to find that Peter Pettigrew, who had long since died, appeared on the map.
Harry followed the location on the map to Peter's vicinity. The two should have met face to face, but the footprints disappeared even after passing by him.
Instead, Severus, who was patrolling behind, spotted him. Severus noticed something fishy about the parchment in Harry's hand and was about to confiscate it when…
Remus Lupin, who had been resting for a while, appeared behind Severus.
In the end, Remus Lupin took Harry away, along with the Marauder's Map.
“Severus, don’t get angry.” I appeared beside Severus after Harry and Remus Lupin left.
"Are they hiding something from me?" Severus's mood started to darken. That thing that looked like James Potter—if it weren't for Lily's eyes, he would have thrown it away.
"That's a gadget made by James Potter and his quartet. It's not suitable for you to look at, and you might even get angry if you do." The thought that it was something Sirius Black and his friends made...
This might not be too friendly for Severus.
"Ha, their stuff." Severus understood what I meant and didn't care so much anymore.
"Let's go, let's continue our walk." We've turned our campus patrols into evening walks after dinner.
Severus and I chatted as we walked, and I guess I was the only one who could keep up with him.
When it was Harry's turn, he followed Remus Lupin to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom.
"I don't know how you got this map, but you didn't even think about handing it over. Did you ever consider that if this map fell into Sirius Black's hands, he could find you?" Remus Lupin said sternly to Harry.
“No.” Harry was a little flustered.
“No?” Remus Lupin walked up to Harry.
“Your father doesn’t follow the rules either, but your parents are gone because of you. There’s a murderer at large, and you’re still wandering around late at night. Is this how you repay your parents?” Remus Lupin became more and more agitated as he spoke, and Harry didn’t dare to move.
“I won’t cover for you anymore, you hear me, Harry?” Remus Lupin looked down at Harry intently.
"I heard you." Harry, who had been reprimanded by Remus Lupin, could only reply immediately.
"Go back to your dorm right now and don't come out again," Remus Lupin told him to leave.
“Stop wandering around, I can see you,” Remus Lupin said to Harry, holding up the Marauder's Map.
“Professor, I think that map isn’t always reliable. It showed a person on it before, but I learned he was dead.” Harry, who was about to leave, turned back to Remus Lupin and said.
"Really? Who is it?" Remus Lupin was also curious about who it was when he heard Harry say that.
“Peter Pettigrew.” Harry had no idea he was blurting out a bombshell.
"Impossible." Remus Lupin was completely stunned.
"Anyway, I saw it. Goodnight, Professor." Harry disdained to lie; whether Professor Lupin believed him or not was up to him.
Harry stopped talking to Remus Lupin and went back to his dormitory.
