"Are you excited?"
“Superficial!” Latis shook his head, scoffed, and said, “With the esteemed Holy Knight Jennifer before me, I no longer have such worldly desires.”
Jennifer chuckled, stood up, spun around, took a hat from the coat rack, and put it on her head.
"Is the esteemed Holy Knight Jennifer beautiful?"
Latis looked at Jennifer, who looked like a vibrant young girl with her hair tied up in a ponytail, and nodded in approval.
"Alright, so I'm going to go play games at the Magic Illusion Shop? Oh, what were you going to say earlier?"
Jennifer adjusted her hat brim and sat on a high stool, spinning around.
“It’s something… that should be very useful to you.” Latis scratched his head, took out Pure Light from his soul space, and tossed it to Jennifer.
Jennifer was startled by the sudden burst of light. She frantically caught the ball Latis tossed to her, and the overwhelming power of the light made her tremble. She sprang up from her chair and cried out in alarm:
"You just leave such valuable things lying around like that! It's terrifying!"
"It's alright, nothing particularly important." Latis chuckled, stood up, and walked towards the door, saying as he did so:
"Here, play with it, little knight. Let's go play video games sometime, okay?"
Jennifer stared blankly at Latis's retreating figure, who had concealed his accomplishments, when suddenly she felt the light in her hand become somewhat scorching hot. She lowered her head and couldn't help but say:
"Can you stop being so nonchalant?! You saved my life and then gave me this... I don't even know how valuable these things are! I haven't even figured out how to repay you for what you did earlier..."
"I'm speechless..." she muttered to herself, instinctively pulling the pure light into her arms. Feeling the immense power far beyond her comprehension, she sighed helplessly.
"Forget it... I can just pay for it myself later..."
Jennifer, Jennifer, don't repay kindness with enmity! How could Lord Latis, such an upright man, accept such a repayment...?
Jennifer coughed twice, dispelling the plot of the script from her mind, and sighed with a slightly flushed face:
"I'll work hard to level up, hoping to form a team with him so I can support and protect him..."
……
Latis closed the door, looked at the sky, then chuckled and leaped into the air.
"A beautiful woman is going to greet me? I'm so excited! I'd have to take a second look even if I'm just passing by!"
As it happened, the Hines Mansion was very close to the Green Vine Academy, and he somersaulted all the way to the school gate.
"Let me see where the beautiful girl is!"
Latis landed with a very cool posture, slowly raised his head, and exchanged a glance with Yaya, who was using the image-recording technique.
"Damn it, it's you again?!"
His face was deathly pale, and he was sweating profusely. He couldn't help but take a step back.
"You're so good at showing off!" Ye Ye's eyes sparkled again, and she couldn't help but take a step forward and say:
"Um! It's a little embarrassing to say, but could you be my nude model? Ahhh, don't make that face! I'm a legitimate artist, I'll pay you! How about fifty gold coins an hour? I don't have much money on me right now, so I can't afford anything too expensive..."
"Sis, what you're saying sounds even more indecent! It makes it sound like I'm dragging someone out to sell my body!"
Latis wiped his sweat, and was about to refuse, but then he remembered his current impoverished financial situation and hesitated.
"……I will think about it."
"Yay!" Ye Ye jumped up happily, and the sign she was carrying on her back fell to the ground.
Latis looked at the sign that read "Welcome, Latis," remained silent for a moment, and then muttered:
"So the beautiful woman Jennifer was talking about was you? You were the one welcoming me?"
“Jennifer? Captain Jennifer?” Ye Ye paused, glanced at the sign on the ground, and couldn’t help but say:
"You're not a ditch..."
"Don't say that word!" Latis swiftly covered Yaya's mouth, glanced around, breathed a sigh of relief, and whispered:
"Please don't call me by my online name in real life, I'm so embarrassed."
"Mmm! Mmm!" Ye Ye nodded vigorously, watching as Latis wiped away his cold sweat and picked up the sign like a guilty thief. She couldn't help but say:
"Gou...Latis, Teacher Yin asked me to take you to the conference room. Shall we go together?"
"Okay, okay." Latis put the "Welcome Latis" sign behind his back, breathed a sigh of relief, and said in a low voice:
"We'll sneak into the village, don't fire."
"Huh? Oh..." Ye Ye tilted her head, looked at the other side of the sign which read "Unrivaled at the Third Ring Level, Number One Mid-Rank Mage", scratched her head, and quickly followed Latis's footsteps.
"Ye Ye, are you a fourth-grade student?"
"How did you know my name?! Hmm, yeah... Come to think of it, you're going to be in third or fourth grade too?"
"Oh, really? I thought we'd have to start from first grade."
"Oh, no need? If you want to review some basic knowledge, each grade has a dedicated classroom that continuously replays the Magic Notes. Moreover, the knowledge in higher grades covers and expands upon previous content, so you can just study in the corresponding grade..."
"Oh, why can I go to both third and fourth grade at the same time?"
"Because the courses for intermediate mages are interconnected, strictly speaking, the most important thing for an intermediate mage is to learn how to enchant their own spells... But many people still don't know these things even after advancing to higher levels... Magic is too difficult!"
"Indeed... I wonder how many months it will take to advance to the higher level..."
"Haha... Did I hear you wrong? You just said several years, right?"
"Yes, yes, yes, speaking of Ye Ye, don't you feel that the more we walk, the more people are talking? What's going on, is it just my imagination?"
“No way…” Ye Ye stopped and pointed to the sign behind Latis, saying, “They must be discussing this.”
"Huh?" Latis took down the sign, flipped it over, and stared at the words "Unrivaled at the Third Ring Level, Number One Mid-Rank Mage" before falling into a long silence.
"Can anyone tell me what the hell this thing is?!"
He pounded his chest and stamped his feet, shouting loudly.
Chapter 111 May Queen Whiteley Live Forever
The inverted triangular tower slowly rotated, gradually dispelling the magical energy within the house.
After sensing the magic network gradually fading, the middle-aged man dressed in noble attire nodded and said:
"Then let's begin the meeting."
"Wait a moment." The man sitting opposite the noble mage looked troubled, rolled up his work clothes sleeves, and reached under his buttocks, his brows gradually furrowing. Half a minute later, he growled menacingly:
"It's out! It's out!"
Snapped!
He slammed a long, cylindrical object onto the table, exhaled, wiped his sweat, and said with a satisfied smile:
"...Let's begin."
"Fisherman, are you out of your mind?"
Walmart, the principal of Qing Teng Academy, who was sitting in the middle of the long table, subconsciously leaned back, and his chair was pulled back two meters.
She stared, her scalp tingling, at the columnar object still dripping a suspicious liquid. Her face paled, and she turned to the noble mage, calling out:
"Ridchman, reimburse me for this table!"
Richman waved his hand dismissively, indicating he heard. He sighed and couldn't help but look at Fisherman across the long table, saying:
"Why do you always have to pull this stunt? Is it fun to bully little girls?"
"That's interesting!" Fisherman laughed, pulled out a yellow hard hat from somewhere, put it on his head, and then carefully picked up the cylindrical object and shook off the liquid on it.
"Aaaaaah!" Walmart screamed, slamming his hand on the armrest of his chair as he stood up and shouted:
"You two! Don't leave after the meeting. I want to watch you clean this room!"
"I'm just an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire..." Richman sighed, rubbing his forehead, then shook his head and said:
"Alright, stop wiping away your protective fluid. It's only been half an hour since you were disconnected from the magic network. Your magic engine won't explode."
“This definitely requires careful consideration…” Fisherman pulled out another iron mask from somewhere, put on the mask, and placed the magic engine into a container filled with protective fluid.
Rickman didn't wait for Fisherman to finish what he was doing. He tapped the table and said:
“I’ve been out of town lately, which is why it’s been convenient for me to come out and talk to you. I’m taking this opportunity, under the guise of a joint teaching session with that student, Latis, to ask about your recent plans.”
"Nothing's changed at Green Ivy Academy." Walmart put his feet on the large chair, staring intently at Fisherman, and said:
"Many students are still out there carrying out the Magic Network's annual commissions. What I want to do right now is to facilitate as many small team units as possible to ensure that all my students can return safely..."
She sighed, hugged her knees, and said:
"Please forgive me for not being able to help with your plan. Most of the students at Qing Teng Academy are children from ordinary families, and they don't have many tools to save their lives in danger."
Richman nodded and said reassuringly:
"It's alright, everything needs to be planned carefully. You just need to focus on cultivating enough core members for this kingdom. Walmart, didn't you say you wanted to hold a free dance for students so they could find partners for the magic network commission teams? Our Queen's Academy can help you with that."
"Then let's hold a joint dance for the three schools."
Fisherman, who had somehow changed into a proper shirt again, stroked his chin and continued:
"Our School of Civil Engineering also needs to take advantage of the commission to explore the outside world. Several research projects have been stalled, and we need to find suitable materials and opportunities."
"Your students are leveling up too fast. The magic network is practically begging to give you more tasks to slow you down." Richman smiled slightly and asked, "By the way, didn't you have a project about storing spell formulas? How's it going?"
A shadow crossed Fisherman's face. He took a deep breath and said:
"It's come to a standstill. The research team encountered an accident during an field trip, and the prototype was lost."
“Hiss…” Richman frowned and asked, “They didn’t have time to send the message?”
“No,” Fisherman shook his head and said.
“Every time we reach such a critical juncture, we always encounter situations where people suddenly die. I reasonably suspect that the Magic Network is targeting us.”
“Have the Queen’s College students team up with your students,” Walmart said. “They have money; at least they can leave a will.”
Fisherman sighed, thought for a moment, and said:
"Recently, we proposed a hypothesis: there might be a material that, when used in a magic engine, would reduce its overall strength but greatly enhance its fusion capabilities. In this way, our students might be able to disassemble the magic engine and integrate it into their bodies when advancing to legendary status, thus undermining the magic network."
"The idea is commendable."
