"???? Rhodes, are you sure?"
"The Titan Guardians have ordered you to eliminate some creatures in the Violet Hold!" the female mage asked in surprise. The Violet Hold was a secret facility in Dalaran that imprisoned some strange creatures, including demons captured by successive Guardians. These demons had unintentionally descended to Azeroth through spatial rifts.
Others are mages who study summoning magic, and who summon demons from the Twisting Nether through some unknown means.
In addition, there are monsters created by mages through dangerous experiments, dangerous creatures native to the world of Azeroth, and even monsters summoned from the elemental planes by mages from Dalaran.
But while this place is called a prison, many of the things inside are actually experimental subjects for mages. Some powerful mages often drag them out and conduct various magical experiments.
So what inside could attract the attention of the Titan Guardians?
"Rhodes, could you be more specific?"
"What exactly are the Titan Guardians asking you to destroy? There are some very valuable monsters imprisoned in Violet Hold," Jaina asked.
"The Guardians say that some of the elemental beings you summoned from the Elemental Plane are actually servants of the Old Gods."
There are also some shadow creatures and demonic creatures that must be eliminated; a great catastrophe is about to befall Azeroth!
"If these elements aren't eliminated, the traitors, the shadow creatures, and the imprisoned demons will soon cause great damage to Dalaran," Rhodes said.
What specific goal do I have? In the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, some of the monsters imprisoned in Violet Hold haven't even entered yet.
Some of them were captured in Outland, some by the Scourge, and some during the Burning Legion's second invasion.
However, Rhodes's goal was very clear: monsters, shadow creatures, and demons from the elemental planes were his targets. As for the creations of mages, Rhodes did not intend to interfere with them, as they were the treasures of private mages.
Speaking of which, if I learned the Warlock's demon summoning spell, could I summon some powerful demons from the Twisting Nether and kill them directly?
That seems like a good idea! Anyway, I'm eliminating demons, so don't worry about where they came from.
Jaina nodded upon hearing this. Just as the prophet had said, it seemed that a great calamity was indeed about to befall Azeroth.
There are indeed some dangerous monsters in the Violet Hold in Dalaran. If they were to escape, they would probably cause a lot of trouble. However, she couldn't make that decision herself!
"Alright then, Rhodes, I'll take you to see your mentor, Antonidas, and let him handle this matter."
"Let's see if your mentor is willing to let you into Violet Prison. If he agrees, then I'll go with you," Jaina said.
“Then I’ll have to trouble you, Gina! But there’s still time. You should at least have some breakfast, and then we’ll go see Master Antonidas,” Rhodes said.
Upon hearing this, the female mage smiled slightly. That's more like it.
After Rhodes had breakfast with Jaina at the mage's restaurant, the sorceress led him to the top of the mage tower to meet her mentor, Antonidas.
“I was just about to have someone call you over at noon or in the afternoon, but I didn’t expect you to come on your own. Is there something you need, my apprentice and Mage Rhodes?” Antonidas nodded to Rhodes and Jaina after seeing them.
Yesterday, he held an internal meeting among the Kirin Tor members and briefly explained the experiences of Rhodes and Jaina, Rhodes' identity as a Titan Guardian emissary, and his powerful magical talent, which led the Kirin Tor members to decide to treat Rhodes with great courtesy.
As for the magical items on Rhodes' body, if they can be purchased with money, then they should be bought; if not, they can be rented out like Kelsa did.
As for the other matter, whether to send some Dalaran mages westward to Kalimdor, this matter still needs to be discussed further.
However, Antonidas was somewhat confident about the situation. The disaster in the Eastern Kingdoms had begun to show, and many mages and even high elves wanted to seek refuge on the continent of Kalimdor.
“Master Antonidas, here’s what happened. This morning, Rhode received a message from the Titan Guardians… and then, Rhode wanted to go to Violet Hold to eliminate some shadow creatures and demons.” Jaina recounted Rhode’s request.
"Hmm! It seems that the Titan Guardian has been paying attention to Dalaran for a long time. The Violet Hold is also a secret among mages. It imprisons many dangerous magical creations and otherworldly life forms."
"However, since it is the Titan Guardian's order, I can allow you to enter and deal with some unclaimed demons and shadow creatures. But you are not allowed to touch the elementals that have owners, as well as some precious magical artifacts and aberrations, understand?" Antonidas said.
“I understand, Archmage Antonidas. Rest assured, I will only eliminate those dangerous demons and shadow creatures. I will not touch anything else,” Rhodes said.
It's a bit of a pity! We can't completely clear out all the monsters inside, but taking down a few powerful demons and shadow creatures is still worthwhile.
"No need to thank me. This is also helping Dalaran eliminate some threats. I should thank the Titan Guardians instead!"
Rhodes and Gina, take my hand and head to Violet Prison!
"Gina knows all the monsters inside, what you can and can't kill. Gina will tell you." After Antonidas finished speaking, he handed his mage token to Rhodes and Jaina, instructing them to go to Violet Prison.
The two bowed to the high priest, then turned and left together.
“Rhodes, the prisoners held in Violet Prison are quite dangerous and powerful. We must be prepared. Should you call some help?” The female mage said as soon as she came out.
“No need. This time, Lord Titan has given me some support, sending some new magical creations to help me,” Rhodes said.
This time, we can bring out the three Divine Monster Lords. Two of them can buff the three Golden Men, and the other one can buff myself and the female mage.
The deity can buff an entire army led by a hero, but it cannot buff a single individual.
For example, if Rhodes is recognized as a hero unit, a god-like being can only cast one beneficial spell on itself, but the female mage standing next to it can also enjoy this buff, as long as it is within a certain area.
The amplification magic of the God and Monster Lord is the same as the amplification released by Rhodes. It is also aimed at a legion, with a maximum of 9999 people enjoying the same treatment, and it is at a high level.
"A new magical creation? Rhodes, do you mean the Titan Guardians have sent you new bodyguards again?"
"What kind of Titan creation is it? Can I see it?" The female mage's eyes lit up upon hearing this, and she immediately became excited.
Last time it was a golden man that was almost immune to 85% of magic; I wonder what kind of magical creature it will be this time.
"Once we enter the Violet Prison, I will show you what this truly wondrous creation is."
Besides their impressive attack and defense capabilities, they also possess an incredibly powerful skill: the ability to cast support magic on allies. Moreover, a single Divine Monster can cast this spell on all creatures within an area. "Rhodes said.
The female mage nodded, and soon the two arrived at Violet Prison. The mages guarding outside did not make things difficult for Antonidas's apprentices who had come with their tokens. After checking them, they allowed the two to enter Violet Prison.
Chapter 72 Entering Violet, Beneficial Magic from the God and Monster Lord, Prayer
"Please be careful, both of you. Violet Prison is extremely dangerous, and the monsters inside are very dangerous," the mage guarding the entrance warned before entering Violet Prison.
“Thank you for the reminder, we will be careful.” Rhodes nodded to the mage at the door and entered the prison with Jaina.
The interior of Violet Prison is not the gloomy dungeon one might imagine; rather, it is more like a huge circular magical fortress, with arcane runes flowing across the thick walls, forming layers of binding magic arrays.
The air was filled with a mixture of energies: arcane, shadow, and fel power.
“This place is quite dangerous, Rhodes, come with me,” Jaina gripped her staff tightly, an icy blue arcane shield flickering around her as she warily scanned her surroundings.
“We must be careful. The seals on some of the cells are not entirely stable. This time, I have selected five targets for you. Two of them are void creatures that a mage apprentice accidentally summoned from another plane. They are neither demons nor elements.”
There was also a Faceless monster similar to the one we destroyed in Tyr's Tomb, but it was a giant beetle.
"The remaining two targets are demons: a Dreadguard of the Burning Legion and a succubus," Jaina said.
Rhodes nodded upon hearing this. It seemed that some of the dungeon bosses he was familiar with in Violet Prison had not yet appeared.
That's true! After all, it's been 20 years since the Dark Portal opened. Some players who were imprisoned here during The Burning Crusade, Classic, or even the Third War...
It's a pity I won't be able to see some familiar faces from the dungeons this time, but it's okay, I'll just treat it as a brand new 5-man dungeon run.
"Our objective is clear, Gina. Let's use the magic scrolls to summon elemental creatures!"
"Holy light and fire elements will be very effective against these shadows, demons, or other beings from other dimensions," Rhodes said, taking a deep breath.
Gina's carefully selected five monsters will grant her at least five rewards.
I hope there will be some features that can increase hero attributes or allow them to learn new spells. It would be even better if there were wild unit nests.
“No problem, Rhodes! To conserve mana this time, I won’t summon water elementals. Water elementals are too weak against these guys. I’ll summon fire elementals instead,” Jaina said.
As a mage specializing in frost magic, he could also try out the charm of fire magic.
Rhodes nodded, took out a fire elemental summoning scroll, and handed it to Jaina.
After receiving the scroll, the female mage immediately and skillfully infused it with her magic, and then began the summoning spell. A moment later, ten fire elementals, each over 3 meters tall, appeared before everyone.
“No matter how many times I use it, I feel that this spell is so powerful. The fire elemental that is summoned can exist for 24 hours and can completely obey my commands.” After Jaina finished speaking, she handed the magic scroll to Rhodes.
"After all, it's Titan magic; it would be strange if it weren't powerful!" Rhodes said with a smile.
Jaina is still somewhat inferior to Kael'thas; Jaina's magic power is currently only about a quarter of Kael'thas's.
However, a few years later, when Jaina met Aegwynn and received a portion of the Guardian's magic, the situation reversed!
If a Guardian were to summon Rhodes, the opponent could probably summon hundreds of fire elementals. However, the Guardian doesn't need fire elementals to assist in the battle; the Guardian's magic is truly nuclear-level in power.
The bosses that players have defeated, such as the Corrupted Avatar in the Tomb of Sargeras, were all killed by Aegwynn alone back then.
Rhodes also began casting a spell, followed by a golden light.
Four dazzling golden beams of light tore through the darkness of the prison passage, and from within the beams, four graceful female elemental beings, composed entirely of pure holy light, descended elegantly.
Their faces were blurred in the halo, and the sacred light they emitted was like a lighthouse, instantly dispelling the gloom in a large area around them.
Four Holy Light Elementals and ten Fire Elementals immediately became the front-line warriors, and Rhodes' newly learned healing spells could also heal these elemental beings.
However, elemental life is a consumable, and Rhode did not intend to waste it on the elemental. Instead, he wanted to use the healing magic on the golden man, since it was not a one-time consumable.
After summoning the elemental creatures, Rhode released the soldiers from the system space.
Three five-meter-tall metal giants, their bodies gleaming with dark gold and bulging muscles, appeared out of thin air, like three moving fortresses blocking Rhodes and Jaina's path. Beneath Egyptian pharaoh-style headdresses, their cold metallic eyes scanned the area ahead, their massive metal fists clenched tightly. These three powerful golden figures would serve as Rhodes and the sorceress's personal bodyguards.
"Honestly, Rhodes, it's fantastic to have Titan creations protecting me. These three big guys make me feel much safer than a few warriors around me," the female mage said with a smile.
“That’s a must. Now I’ll show you the new troops that the Titan Guardians sent to help me complete this mission,” Rhodes said with a smile.
Unlike the common professions in games, in the real world of Azeroth, mages are an extremely prestigious and rare profession, and they are incredibly powerful.
The same applies to Paladins and Priests. On the contrary, Warriors, Rogues, and Hunters are very common. Basically, anyone who picks up a bow and arrow and learns a few archery skills can call themselves a Hunter.
As for what you mentioned about controlling beast companions, or various flashy shooting skills, or unleashing all sorts of dazzling magical traps.
Sorry, those are the signature skills of the Beastmaster and the Windrunner family's ranger units; ordinary humans can't learn these things.
Of course, the Night Elves are also quite good at archery; the Ranger Corps were the High Elf Sentinels who were the first to break away from the Night Elf group.
As for soldiers, they are even more common. Any adult soldier can call himself a soldier after a year of training with an iron sword and a shield.
Then comes the infamous thief. Take a couple of daggers, train a bit, learn some techniques and assassination skills, and you'll be a qualified thief.
As for the MI7 level you mentioned, or the famous undead rogue, or a legendary orc female assassin.
Sorry, this has nothing to do with you. He's a legendary figure. Even high-level professions like mages, paladins, and priests don't know all the spells.
Many people who only know four or five spells are already considered qualified mages and paladins.
Three blue whirlwinds dissipated, revealing three tall, elegant, and ancient genie-like blue elemental beings—the God-Monster Lords. They hovered in the air, their lower bodies shrouded in ethereal blue mist, while their upper bodies resembled strong human males.
"Rhodes, is this the new type of soldier the Titan Guardians sent you? They look very magnificent, and they seem to be something like elements? I feel like their bodies are similar to primal beings," Jaina said after carefully examining the monsters.
Their lower bodies didn't even have legs; they were simply a blue, suspended gas.
"Pretty much! The Titans possessed the true skill to permanently create elemental life forms," Rhodes said with a smile.
This isn't him trying to glorify Titan; it's simply that Titan genuinely possesses that ability. In the real universe, there are virtually no beings capable of directly confronting Titan.
