Chapter 63 My hands are killing me.
Chapter 63 My hands are killing me.
Lin Weiwei's ears went numb from his words, and the tingling, itchy feeling in her palm instantly spread throughout her body.
Her mind went blank for a moment as she realized what he meant. Her face flushed bright red, and even her neck turned a light pink.
"You... what nonsense are you talking about!" She tried to pull her hand back, but Bai Si'an held it tightly, and his fingers deliberately scratched her palm lightly again.
The rough texture of the callus sent a shiver down Lin Weiwei's spine.
"I'm not lying,"
Bai Si'an's voice was low as he leaned close to her ear, his warm breath tickling her ear, "The fire's too big; it needs to be put out. Otherwise, I won't be able to sleep."
Lin Weiwei was so angry at his self-righteous and absurd reasoning that she wanted to laugh, but also felt embarrassed.
She turned to glare at him, but the bathroom was dimly lit, with only a little starlight coming through the small window in the corner. She could barely make out his eyes behind his glasses, which were frighteningly bright, filled with emotions that were both familiar and unfamiliar to her.
"Your shoulder is injured, and your leg is also inconvenient," Lin Weiwei bit her lip, trying to make her voice sound calm. "What if it cracks again later? I'll go and call Bai Rongbei to help you wash it."
She tried to break free from him and walk out.
Bai Si'an did not let go.
He used his uninjured left hand to put his arm around her waist and pulled her back with a little force, her back pressed against the wall that was still cool from the cement.
"Don't go," he said in an even lower voice, with a hint of pleading, but the strength in his hands left no room for refusal. "My brother is a grown man, I don't want him to wash me. You're my wife, and I can only ask you to help me with things like bathing."
"No... I, I can't. Then you wash it yourself!" Lin Weiwei heard Bai Si'an's words, her neck stiffened, and her heart was pounding so hard it felt like it was going to jump out of her chest.
"My hands are inconvenient," Baisian said matter-of-factly. "My right hand is immobile, and my left hand... isn't enough either."
As he spoke, he gently held her wrist.
Lin Weiwei froze, shrinking back uncomfortably, but Bai Si'an firmly held her down.
"Just use your hands," his voice was terribly hoarse, "Weren't you pretty bold last time?"
These words reminded Lin Weiwei of the time in the dormitory when she straddled him and unbuttoned his clothes, and her face immediately burned.
"That...that time was an accident!" she stubbornly insisted.
"This was an accident too," Bai Si'an continued, "The injured need help, and as a family member, you should help."
He spoke with such seriousness, as if it were the truth of the matter.
Lin Weiwei was amused by his shamelessness, but her initial resistance slowly melted away in the warmth of his breath and his low, husky voice.
Actually... she wasn't really unwilling.
It just felt so sudden; she had absolutely no experience with this!
And I also feel so embarrassed about this...
Lin Weiwei suddenly realized that she was just a master of empty talk, while Bai Si'an was a cunning and aggressive guy!
Starlight slanted in through the small window, casting a small patch of light on the ground.
The toilet was quiet; you could hear the howling wind over the Gobi Desert outside, and the two people's somewhat disordered breathing.
Bai Si'an was still holding her hand, his fingertips gently caressing the delicate skin on the inside of her wrist.
The sensation was itchy, an itch that went right to her heart.
"You..." Lin Weiwei began, her voice trembling slightly, "Are you sure you only used your hands?"
"Mm," Bai Si'an responded, then whispered in her ear, "I keep my word."
His lips were almost touching her earlobe, and his warm breath sprayed onto her sensitive skin, causing Lin Weiwei to get goosebumps all over her body.
She gritted her teeth and made up her mind: "Then...then let go, I'll do it myself. You're all sweaty, let me wipe you off first."
Bai Si'an then slowly released her hand, took half a step back, and gave her some space.
But his gaze remained fixed on her face; in the dim light, his eyes were heavy, as if they could suck a person in.
Lin Weiwei took a deep breath, turned around, her back to him, and reached for the hot water basin with trembling hands.
The towel was soaked in hot water and wrung out until it was half-dry, the heat passing through the fabric to the palm of the hand.
She bit her lip, turned back, and dared not look into his eyes, her gaze fixed on his chest.
The bandage was wrapped tightly around his right shoulder, and the surrounding skin was red from the sun from working for the past two days. The muscle lines rose and fell slightly with his breathing.
"You...you close your eyes," Lin Weiwei whispered.
Bai Si'an was unusually obedient and actually closed his eyes.
Only the slight curve at the corner of her mouth was clearly visible under the starlight.
Lin Weiwei finally breathed a sigh of relief, took a hot towel, and carefully avoided the bandage, starting to wipe his left side of his neck.
The movements were very light and slow.
The towel rubbed against my collarbone, my chest, and my firm abs.
She could feel the warmth of his skin beneath her hands, and the slight tension in his muscles as he restrained himself.
The sound of breathing was amplified in the confined space—his, and hers.
Bai Si'an kept his eyes closed, but his Adam's apple clearly bobbed as the towel wiped his neck.
Lin Weiwei paused, her cheeks burning even hotter.
She forced herself to focus and continued wiping.
The more I wiped, the more my hand trembled.
Especially when she brushed against his lower abdomen, she barely dared to use any force, only touching him lightly before wanting to stop.
"It's not clean." Bai Si'an suddenly spoke, his voice hoarse.
Lin Weiwei was startled and almost dropped the towel.
"You...you mustn't speak!" She was incredibly embarrassed.
Bai Si'an opened his eyes and looked at her flushed face and sparkling eyes in the dim light, a hint of a smile flashing in his eyes.
He closed his eyes again and didn't speak, but his breathing was noticeably heavier.
Lin Weiwei gritted her teeth and forced herself to continue.
This time she used a bit more force, and the heat of the towel seeped through the fabric, burning her palms and his skin.
She could feel the changes in his body; his muscles were more taut, and the lines of his abdomen were as clear as if carved by a knife.
Her fingers accidentally touched the edge of her pants waistband, and she felt the burning heat from under the fabric, which startled her so much that she quickly pulled her hand back.
"Is that...enough?" Her voice was weak.
"Not enough," Baisian said in a hoarse voice, "the fire isn't out yet."
As he spoke, he suddenly reached out his left hand and grabbed her hand that was holding the towel.
Lin Wei was startled and looked up at him.
Bai Si'an had already opened his eyes, and the gaze behind his glasses was as deep as a pool of water, churning with emotions she couldn't understand.
Lin Weiwei's mind went blank, and she froze.
She tried to pull her hand away, but Bai Si'an held it tightly, with just the right amount of force, allowing no refusal but not hurting her.
"Bai Si'an..." she whispered his name, her voice trembling with panic.
"Mmm," he responded, lowering his head to kiss her earlobe. "Help me out, honey."
The word "wife" was uttered in a low, hoarse voice, as if hooked, making Lin Weiwei's heart tremble.
She bit her lip, closed her eyes, and tried to ignore it.
Starlight streamed quietly in through the window, casting two overlapping shadows on the floor.
The walls still carried the chill of the cement, but the temperature inside the cramped space was rising.
The breathing grew heavier, becoming especially clear in the quiet night.
Bai Si'an's left hand slid from her wrist to her waist, holding her tightly and encircling her completely in his arms.
His chin rested on the top of her head, his breathing rapid, his chest heaving violently.
Lin Weiwei buried her face in the crook of his neck, and could smell his masculine scent, a mixture of sweat, soap, and a faint smell of blood.
The taste wasn't unpleasant; on the contrary, it gave her a strange sense of peace.
After what seemed like an eternity, he let out a long sigh of relief, but tightened his grip on her arm.
Lin Weiwei's hand was still being held by him.
Her face burned, and she tried to pull her hand away, but Bai Si'an wouldn't let go...
