Chapter 68 Coolness
Chapter 68 Coolness
In the darkness of night, Boruto and Naruto led the subdued Tosu Kinugami through the streets of Konoha Village.
They then arrived at Kakashi's residence. Boruto gently knocked on the door and stood outside waiting for Kakashi's response.
After a while, Kakashi slowly opened the door, leaned against the doorway with sleepy eyes, and said to Boruto, "Hmm... what are you doing here so late at night instead of sleeping? It's so late, I don't have time to entertain you. If it's about training, let's talk about it tomorrow."
Boruto said, "Wait a minute, I've come to bring you something."
Just then, Naruto arrived late, carrying the unconscious Dosu Kinuta.
Kakashi saw Naruto appear at their door with Tosu Kinu bound hand and foot, and his sleepiness vanished instantly.
Kakashi looked at the unconscious Tosu Kinu and said, "Isn't this the genin from Otogakure who passed the selection tournament? How come he's here and tied up by you guys?"
Boruto explained helplessly, "Actually, it's this person..."
"I know, I know, just a short while ago..." Naruto recounted everything that had happened that night to Kakashi-sensei.
Boruto added, "His goal is to take Naruto's place and fight Sasuke."
After listening, Kakashi stroked his chin thoughtfully and said, "Are you willing to attack your opponents before the tournament just to face Sasuke during the Chunin Exams?"
"It seems Orochimaru will try something during the upcoming exams, but don't worry, I'll report this to the Third Hokage," Kakashi said to Boruto.
"So what should he do now?" Boruto asked, pointing to Tos Kinu, who was still lying on the floor.
"As for him..." Kakashi smiled slightly and said, "Don't underestimate Konoha's interrogators. They are professionals. Ibiki Morino will have a hundred ways to make him spill all the information he knows about Orochimaru."
"Hmm." Boruto nodded, indicating that he understood Kakashi's meaning, and then handed the Tosu Kinuji to Kakashi for safekeeping.
Kakashi said, "To be honest, I was quite surprised when I first saw you guys with this Sound Village genin. I thought you were going to make a move."
Boruto was completely bewildered by Kakashi's nonsensical words: "What do you mean? What do you mean I wouldn't be able to resist taking action?"
Kakashi joked, "You're not feeling too much pressure because you have to challenge two opponents in a row in the first round of the third exam, are you?"
"So take care of one of them now, so you'll only have to face one opponent in the third exam."
Kakashi continued, "Then you brought him here, wanting me to kill him to silence him."
Boruto was speechless for a moment, never expecting that he was seen as this kind of person by Kakashi.
Just as Boruto was about to turn and leave, he suddenly remembered something, so he stopped and turned back.
"Oh, right, Kakashi-sensei, I won't be going to that training site starting tomorrow, because I'm now learning and training with the 18+ Sage," Boruto explained to Kakashi.
Kakashi waved his hand and said, "Okay, I understand. You've already learned Chidori, but it's still a bit lacking in power, so you just need to practice more."
"Also, who is this '18+ Sage' you mentioned? I've never heard of him in Konoha before," Kakashi asked curiously.
"Here, this is the author of this book." Boruto pulled out the book "Make-Out Paradise" from his pocket and waved it in front of Kakashi.
"Oh ho, you came all this way and you even brought a gift? Seriously." Kakashi said, quickly snatching the book from Boruto's hand. It's not good for kids to read these kinds of books.
Kakashi calmly tucked the book into his robes: "Ahem... You mean, Jiraiya-sama has returned to Konoha? And you've been training by his side?"
“That’s right.” Boruto nodded, then turned to leave.
"Wait a minute." Kakashi grabbed Boruto, who was about to leave, and said, "I need your help with something."
Boruto was taken aback, wondering what could possibly make Kakashi so serious.
Kakashi said, "Please ask Jiraiya-sama for me when the latest issue of 'Make-Out Paradise' will be available. I've already read this book 10 times."
Boruto glanced at Kakashi, said nothing, and then pulled Naruto away from there.
Kakashi, still behind them, reminded them, "Don't forget."
"Really." Only after Boruto and the others were out of his sight did he put away his nonchalant expression, grabbing Tosu Kinu from the ground and disappearing into the night.
......
The next morning, Boruto and Naruto arrived as promised, and they went to the stream they had met the day before.
However, they looked around but couldn't find Jiraiya anywhere, so the two had to split up to search for him.
After a careful search, Boruto finally found Jiraiya in a dense thicket.
At that moment, Jiraiya was crouching in the bushes, gently parting the layers of leaves with his hands.
Boruto curiously crouched down next to Jiraiya and peeked out.
Boruto peered through the gaps in the bushes and saw several young women dressed in light clothing playing in the stream.
Boruto was startled by the scene before him. He quickly looked away and pointed at Jiraiya in a flustered manner, stammering, "Ah! This... um... um..."
Seeing that Boruto was about to shout, Jiraiya quickly covered Boruto's mouth and said in a deep voice, "Shh! Be quiet, you'll disturb them! This is a very rare sight."
"Ugh... Ugh..." Boruto struggled even more violently after Jiraiya covered his mouth.
As the young women were playing in the stream, they suddenly heard rustling sounds coming from the bushes not far away, along with occasional strange noises.
This feeling sent a chill down their spines, and they quickly left the area around the stream.
After some negotiation, Jiraiya released Boruto only after making sure that Boruto wouldn't make a sound.
After Jiraiya released Boruto, he turned his gaze back towards the stream, but the girl was nowhere to be seen; she had all disappeared sometime earlier.
Jiraiya said with a regretful expression, "Damn it..."
