Chapter 60 Breaking Through the Flame
Chapter 60 Breaking Through the Flame
In fact, in Shen Yaoxing's eyes, both he and his sister were overpowered.
Lu Ren has low initial stats, but levels up quickly. With a little more effort, he can reach the Flame Realm before the league starts, and the improvement multiplier is high, making his strength advantage greater as the game progresses.
Lu Youhe awakened his talent on his 16th birthday, his talent is undeniable, he will definitely reach the Flame Realm before he turns 18. With his talent, he can "prematurely consume" and use a gold-level alchemical artifact comparable to the Star Cocoon Realm, and he can dominate in the league. It's just a pity that he has no chance this year.
However, even without reaching the Flame Realm, Lu Youhe, who is only at the Illumination Realm and can use a silver-grade alchemical artifact, is already incredibly powerful and definitely qualified to step onto the stage of this national league.
In addition, we also picked up Jiang Yueying, who has amazing stats. She has just entered the ascent period and is progressing rapidly. She will definitely enter the Fire realm before June next year. If she can reach the bottleneck period, her elemental affinity will be 1!
What does a level of 10,000 in the Flame Realm mean? That's higher than some mages who have just entered the Star Cocoon Realm!
This is my incredible luck; everything that happens is in my favor!
In just one month, I picked up three UR cards while out and about. Just looking at their stats, each one is no weaker than Dragon Travel.
"..."
Longyou...?
Shen Yaoxing put down the charcoal pencil in her hand and stepped onto the easel.
She was sketching; it was for entertainment, but also a form of spiritual practice.
The training of spiritual cultivation is the training of the spirit, emphasizing focus.
Focusing on certain things can enhance one's spiritual attributes; generally speaking, spiritual practitioners often meditate.
However, doing other things that require focus, such as painting, playing chess, or calligraphy, can also achieve the same effect, but you must be focused.
She has been in the bottleneck period of the Candle Illumination Realm for two or three months. She has found the lock, but she has not found the opportunity to break through. Perhaps it will happen in the next day or two, or perhaps it will take some more time.
On a sweltering summer day, she sketched and meditated in the garden, but she couldn't concentrate.
I don't know why, but I suddenly thought of Longyou just now, and then I realized that I have really been away from the [Listen to the Dragon's Roar] team for two or three months.
Where are Longyou adventuring now? Are they injured? Have they all already reached the Flame Realm? What stories have they experienced together?
The thing she had always longed for was now happening in the virtual world, only she was no longer there.
She didn't know what she was thinking, or maybe she wasn't thinking about anything at all, but a thought would pop into her head from time to time.
If I had been bolder a year ago and confessed my feelings to Longyou, what would the situation be like now?
However, since she failed to capture Sui Guangying, her grandfather would likely bring her back. Even if she managed to escape the arranged marriage, her grandfather would still send her to a vocational school and prevent her from going on adventures with Long You and the others.
So it seems there's nothing to regret. I even feel lucky that I didn't confess my feelings, otherwise I would have had to break up with Longyou, which would have been so embarrassing.
Longyou, let's break up. My family won't let me go out with you guys... Shen Yaoxing couldn't help but smile when she thought of this scenario.
"Huh? (chewing) You're done eating? (chewing) How come there's so little?"
"..." Shen Yaoxing looked at Lu Ren beside her.
This guy is also a divine cultivator, so naturally he also needs the training of a divine cultivator.
She dragged this guy into training with her, but he acted like a big shot, sitting down and eating her pastries, finishing them all in two bites.
"Xiao He..." Lu Ren called out.
The young maidservant, who was playing on her phone nearby, asked, "Young Master Lu, is there something you need?"
"These mung bean cakes are quite delicious. I was going to save two for you, but I didn't even realize I'd eaten them all."
"Thank you for your kindness, Young Master Lu, but Xiaohe doesn't need it..."
"How about this, go to the kitchen and see if there's any more. If there is, bring out two more baskets, so you can try some too, right?"
Xiaohe had become quite familiar with him, so she covered her mouth and smiled, telling him to wait a moment.
"Oh, by the way, Xiaohe, see if you have any sour plum drink. Have someone bring a couple of jugs."
Lu Ren felt he was being a bit too shameless, so he added, "It's just a good idea for you to drink one pot and me to drink one pot, it's so hot."
One pot is enough for five or six people, but Xiaohe can't drink that much.
"Understood, Young Master Lu, please wait a moment!"
Lu Ren was very uncomfortable being called "Young Master," but that was the way things were in the aristocratic community. Forcibly correcting him by saying something about equality for all would only make him seem foolish.
He turned back with satisfaction, only to find Shen Yaoxing staring at him with narrowed eyes, making him feel a little uneasy.
"Young Miss, do you want a drink too?"
Shen Yaoxing sighed, somewhat helplessly, "I brought you here to cultivate with me, eat my pastries, and flirt with my maid... You...
"I've been cultivating too. I just felt my attributes increase by another point. Look at what I've drawn, Miss..."
"Like a child's doodle."
"They definitely can't compare to the young lady."
"What...is this drawing you made?"
"Oh, I want to make a card game. These are the cards I drew."
"Design...a card game?"
Yes, Lu Ren wanted to design some card games from his previous life. Unlike video games, which require programming, card games can be copied as long as you remember the rules.
This world doesn't have Three Kingdoms Kill, Werewolf, Monopoly, or even Mahjong, which hasn't been fully developed yet.
Mahjong isn't popular yet, but he is!
And it's not just these games; Lu Ren has also relearned music theory during this time and can now compose music. Copying a couple of songs is a piece of cake for him.
However, he doesn't have time right now. He's exhausted from training every day, and he doesn't get much rest like today. He can only fantasize and indulge in his whims.
Lu Ren enthusiastically introduced his ingenious ideas to Shen Yaoxing, but the young lady became somewhat uninterested.
"If you want to do these things, just have someone else do them for you. Remember not to let it interfere with your spiritual practice."
Despicable Chinese parents! Lu Ren never expected to suffer such torment again in his second life.
Shen Yaoxing asked somewhat listlessly, "Lu Ren, have you thought about what you want?"
"Um, what do you mean by 'young lady'?"
"What do you think is the purpose of human life?"
"Is this such a philosophical topic?"
Shen Yaoxing propped herself up on her knees, looking at the shimmering, golden surface of the pool. Sunlight streamed through the bamboo forest and fell around them. The bamboo swayed gently in the breeze, and the sunlight swayed with it. The two of them sat in the forest as if they were in a flowing golden river.
"Sometimes I think about big things, and then I realize that my troubles are actually very small."
"What's troubling you, young lady?"
"I don't know. People are like that sometimes. They get annoyed by everything and suddenly lose interest in everything. They feel that this is no good and that is no good, and their mood gets bad. But after a couple of days, they feel better and realize that they were just being dramatic. There's not that much to worry about."
"No need to wait two or three days, the sun will set in half an hour."
"..."
She took a deep breath and frowned slightly as she looked at him: "We agreed that you wouldn't mention what happened at night during the day."
Lu Ren didn't mind. He and the young lady had probably gone from being ordinary friends to good friends, from polite concern to sharing intimate thoughts. He said:
"Youhe said that the young lady is only truly herself at night, carefree and like a child."
She sighed softly again, seemingly saddened by something, her brows furrowed with melancholy.
But Lu Ren knew what was going on. He knew perfectly well that boys and girls at this age were like this. They would suddenly become a bit sentimental, start whining without any real reason, and try to create a persona for themselves. They would even imagine some non-existent experiences and then feel sad alone. Then one night, when they suddenly recalled them, they would be so embarrassed that they would roll around in bed.
This is a unique moment of illness during adolescence. Lu Ren didn't want to disturb the young lady and hoped that she could have a complete adolescence.
"I can't draw anymore, Lu Ren, why don't you continue the story?"
"...Young Miss, the stars haven't come out yet."
"Shen Yaoxing is your young lady at night, but not during the day? Are you going to talk or not?"
Oh, how willful! She's starting to resemble a little hamster at night. This young lady is getting more and more willful. I wonder if she'll become a hamster all day long in the future.
"Tell me, tell me..."
Lu Ren asked, "Where were we last time?"
"Xiao Yan and Little Fairy Doctor went to the Star Domain..."
"Oh, and this brings us to the next piece of trash, the Blazing Flame..."
Xiaohe had her servants carry four large jugs of plum juice and ten baskets of mung bean cakes, and then left at Shen Yaoxing's instruction.
Lu Ren ate and told stories at the same time; it was the first time he had ever told a story to Shen Yaoxing, who was in her young lady form.
In her hamster form, Shen Yaoxing would question him while he was telling stories. He would say one version and she would say another. When she talked about things she didn't like, she would force Lu Ren to change the plot.
In her pampered young lady mode, Shen Yaoxing wouldn't do that. She would just sit quietly to the side, cupping her face in her hands, listening to him. But she would ask questions like, "And then?", "Why is this person like this?", "Can you beat him?" She was an excellent listener.
She sat with her legs together, arms resting flat on her knees, her face nestled in the crook of her arm, looking at him with half her face turned to the side.
Just now, she felt the lock that had bound her for two months, the Candle Illumination Realm, suddenly shatter.
Before the age of 18, she officially entered the realm of spiritual enlightenment, and was undoubtedly a woman of exceptional talent.
Lu Ren continued talking, speaking eloquently, and she continued to listen.
After an unknown amount of time, she finally spoke:
"Lu Ren..."
"what?"
Lu Ren looked at her and found that the young lady was gone, and there was a little Q version of a figure on the ground.
Shen Yaoxing, with her round face, switched her voice from a young girl's to a child's as she waved her arms in dissatisfaction:
"What's going on with this Blazing Flame? It can't be like this! Little Fairy Doctor insists on becoming Xiao Yan's wife, you'd better change it... I won't accept it!"
Shen Yaoxing angrily reached out and hit him, telling him to change the story immediately.
She loved Little Fairy Doctor the most, so she couldn't accept the two of them separating in the end.
Lu Ren then realized that the Milky Way was slowly appearing on the horizon.
"It's already so late, saying that..."
Looking at the sunset on the horizon, Lu Ren put the last piece of mung bean cake into his mouth and couldn't help but sigh:
"It's time for dinner."
He got up and brushed the pastry crumbs off his clothes. Shen Yaoxing also got up and started throwing wild punches at his back.
"Lu Ren, you need to change that immediately!"
"Quickly bring my Little Fairy Doctor back!"
"Lu Ren, revise it quickly!"

PS: Some readers have commented that the plot has been rather bland lately, which is true to some extent. However, this book is generally a slow-burner, and there is a significant portion of daily life content. Also, the Shen Mansion arc is somewhat of a world-building explanation and lays some foreshadowing... which may be a little frustrating for those who are following along. It would be better if there were more updates, but I can't update too many words before it goes on sale. I apologize to everyone who has read this far.
