Chapter 399: The Ending You Deserve
Chapter 399: The Ending You Deserve
The church bells rang.
In the dressing room, Eden nervously sat before the mirror, staring at his unfamiliar reflection. He was prettier than usual, dolled up in makeup.
Eden wore a white suit-like attire suitable for the era, his silver hair prettily combed to flow downward.
Lenny stood behind him, staring at him through the mirror. He was in human form, wearing a pink suit that matched his pink hair and eyes. Lenny smiled. "You look so pretty today."
Eden nervously nodded.
Lenny stared. "Huh? Is the all-brave and shameless Eden nervous on his own wedding day?"
Eden turned to him. "I’m not nervous."
But Lenny smiled with a nod. "Sure, sure, whatever you say, I guess." He laughed, teasing him. Eden turned back to the window.
"Don’t be nervous," Lenny said in a calm tone. "You’re finally going to be with the men you love and deserve. So you should be excited." He smiled. "After all these years, it’s happening."
Eden smiled, staring at himself in the mirror. "Lenny, am I pretty?"
Lenny stared at him in the mirror. "You’re the prettiest today."
Eden smiled, holding onto Lenny’s hand. "Thank you."
Lenny continued combing his hair as he asked, "Hey, you still haven’t told me how it happened. How they proposed to you."
The two exchanged smiles as Eden found himself thinking about a month ago. He recalled it vividly—the surprise his husbands had prepared for him.
After he had told Elvis that he was ready, he saw an outpouring of butterflies, flowers, and bubbles going up into the air.
Shocked and impressed, Eden stared into the sky, watching the beautiful scenery before him. His heart fluttered hard when he saw them all coming together to form a sentence.
The flowers, bubbles, and butterflies all came together to make a heart-stopping sentence:
[WILL YOU LET US BE YOUR HUSBANDS?]
Eden recalled the feeling vividly. He recalled his heart fluttering a thousand times, as though a butterfly was struggling to break free from within.
He had panicked. His cheeks had gone pink, and he had lost words.
The thought of it made him blush again. He couldn’t get over how perfect it was, and he was instantly brought to tears.
"There you go again, blushing. Oh well, it must have been so beautiful that you have no words to express it." Lenny smiled. "That’s good, then. As long as they gave you the best."
Eden smiled. "I guess so. I’ll probably tell you later, when I can recall it without melting."
Lenny shook his head. "I guess that means never."
At that moment, Helen and Cordelia made their way into the dressing room too.
"Oh my gosh, you look so beautiful," Cordelia smiled. "I almost didn’t recognize you."
Helen placed a hand over her mouth, getting emotional. "Oh gosh... I can’t believe it... it’s really happening already."
Eden smiled at them. "You guys came..."
"Why wouldn’t we come? That’s literally impossible. Everyone is here. Even my mum and dad. Everyone is saying this is going down in history as one of the biggest weddings we’ve ever seen," Cordelia explained.
Eden smiled. "I guess. Thanks."
"Those noble men are so lucky to have you," Helen smiled, staring at him in the mirror. "You’re so gorgeous."
Eden smiled. "Is that so? I think I’m lucky to have them." He smiled, recalling the words of the author. It was all Gideon—a gift from him. And Eden couldn’t help but wonder if Gideon had also written such a beautiful ending in the original script as well.
He guessed he did.
Helen stared at him as she held Eden’s hand. She stared into his face with a smile. "You know what? I’m wishing you all the best in the world. You don’t know how happy I am that you took a leap into happiness. I only hope it gets better from here. And only better."
Cordelia smiled. "Me too. I pray for all the happiness. And I also pray for a lot of children for you all," she said as they all laughed.
"What?" Cordelia laughed. "It can happen. Everything is possible with our dear Wizard of El."
They spent their time there, the four of them staying and chatting and laughing until the time came.
Someone had come and informed them that it was time to bring in Eden.
Eden stared up, nervous. The three noticed it and calmed him down.
Helen held his hand. "Don’t be nervous. It’s fine."
Cordelia nodded, tapping his shoulders. "View it as just another battle. This time, one to conquer your husbands forever."
Eden smiled at her with a nod. "Thanks."
Lenny brought out the white wedding veil and put it over Eden’s head, covering his face, and handed him a bouquet of flowers. Lenny smiled. "It’s time to shine." He winked at him.
---
The church bells rang as the entrance door was pulled open.
Everyone sitting in the huge, beautiful church immediately turned to stare, some getting up to their feet.
Eden was under the white veil as he walked in, with Lenny holding him by the side, leading him in.
Smiles filled the faces of everyone as they watched them enter. Eden couldn’t help but look around to witness the faces of the people around him.
He saw many familiar faces. From the faces of the Emperor and Empress, to that of Queen Elizabeth. He even saw Helen and Cordelia sitting together, waving and smiling at him.
Eden smiled as he looked ahead, walking straight to the altar where the priest and his husbands were waiting for him.
He met their faces with a bright smile. From Lysander having the brightest smile in his white suit, to Elvis holding a poker face as though his heart wasn’t fluttering at the sight of Eden. They were all wearing royal white wedding attire, and they all looked angelical in it.
They all stared as Eden appeared, and it was obvious that their eyes were filled with love and admiration for the person walking up to them. The person they were going to spend their forever with.
Outside the church, doves flew around. The whole city was decorated in the spirit of the wedding—everyone was out.
Because not only was Eden celebrating his happy ending with the marriage, everyone was.
And as Eden ascended the altar, he couldn’t help but smile with that thought. Finally, he was getting the happy ending he never thought he’d get in the real world after losing Gideon.
And he was getting that happy ending in the most grand way possible.
