Volume 3, "The Loser, the Alien Sisters, and Gensokyo High School": Chapter 30 - Successfully Collecting Three Alien Princesses

Hearing Sasdin's words, Lala paused for a moment, then turned to look at Mengmeng and Nana, who were tiptoeing away, as if she had realized something: "You two didn't sneak out, did you?"

"If you can run away halfway through a blind date, why can't we?"

Despite knowing she was in the wrong, Nana still adopted a tough "if you can do it, so can I" attitude, but she didn't expect Lala to show an expression of agreement instead.

"You're right, but I've found a fiancé now, so that blind date wasn't a failure, right? Anyway, Dad only asked me to find a guy I like."

Lala's nonchalant attitude left Sasdin speechless. He had always doubted whether she truly liked Mu Huai, or whether she understood the meaning of the words "like" and "love".

However, the two have already held a marriage proposal ceremony in the Deviluke royal family. Even if they don't have feelings for each other now, as long as they spend enough time together, even the naive Lala will understand sooner or later.

If Anna knew what Sasting was thinking, she would definitely point at herself with tears in her eyes and say, "Look, I've lived with Mu Huai for over ten years, and that blockhead has never even considered becoming my lover. 'Feelings grow over time' only works when it's a verb!"

The focus shifts back to the two sisters who were trying to escape but were blocked by men in black. Mengmeng understands that if her older sister doesn't stop these people, she and Nana will really be taken back to Deviluke.

It's definitely impossible to ask her to help right now; Lala has no reason to help her two younger sisters skip school.

(In that case, the only one who can break out of the current predicament is Mr. Mu Huai.)

Without saying a word, Mengmeng hid behind Mu Huai, clutching his clothes and pleading in a sweet voice, "Help me, brother-in-law!"

"You guys skipped school, didn't you? I don't condone this kind of behavior, so I'm sorry, I won't help you."

When one plan failed, she devised another.

"Actually, we wanted to come to Earth to study. Anyway, the palace only teaches dispensable knowledge like galactic history and court etiquette. We have to learn everything else on our own. It's better to come here and listen to the teachers' lectures!"

Mu Huai frowned in confusion. It was the first time he had ever heard of aliens having a free-range teaching style. He then asked Lala for confirmation: "Is everything Mengmeng said true?"

"Yes, both Dad and Mom hope that we can find a direction that we like to develop, so most of the courses are taught by ourselves based on our interests."

"Wait here." He said this and went upstairs. He returned shortly with a math workbook and a pencil, and handed them to Mengmeng: "If you can solve these problems, I'll help you stay on Earth."

"Really?" Mengmeng blinked her sparkling eyes.

"I never lie."

"Lord Mu Huai...you..." Sasdin's face immediately fell. If Mu Huai intervened, his mission would definitely be ruined, and he might even get scolded when he returned to the spaceship.

"Anyway, your education is no different from herding sheep. If Mengmeng can really complete the task I gave her, what's wrong with letting them stay on Earth? You won't make me, her brother-in-law, go back on my word, will you, Mr. Sasdin?"

A faint, almost imperceptible killing intent swept across Sasdin's back, causing him to break out in a cold sweat. He could only manage a forced smile as he replied, "I will relay this to Lord Chido."

While doing her homework, Mengmeng glanced up at Sasdin and wondered about his attitude toward Mu Huai.

(The captain of the Deviluke Planet's Royal Guard is quite powerful, so why is he repeatedly yielding to ordinary Earthlings?)

Nana didn't think too much about it and just told her, "Good luck, whether you can stay on Earth depends entirely on you." Then she walked over to Mu Huai, patted his arm lightly, and praised him, "Even though you don't look very muscular, you still have a lot of manly charm!"

Not just anyone could stand up for them without batting an eye in front of the infamous Sasdin; at least, not everyone she knew could.

While staying in the kitchen, Yanagi Anna was really worried for Mu Huai. After confirming that he wouldn't get a beating from Sasdin, who was wearing skull armor, she finally let go of her sweaty palms and took out a handkerchief to wipe the cold sweat from her forehead.

"This idiot, why did he have to be so forceful with someone who's obviously not someone to mess with!"

Sanae looked at her, puzzled: "Do you really think Mu Huai will lose to this strange armored man?"

"Could he possibly defeat this alien?"

"My gut feeling is yes."

When Anna saw Sanae's serious expression, I couldn't tell if she was joking to ease the tension or if she really thought so. I awkwardly pursed my lips and decided to continue observing the situation in the living room.

"Brother-in-law, it's ready!"

"Let me check... Aside from a few questions answered incorrectly, the rest are all correct..."

"Yay!" Mengmeng excitedly high-fived Nana, then looked at Sasdin with a victor's smile: "Now that we can stay on Earth, shouldn't you go back and report to your father?"

"Sigh..." He sighed helplessly, "Let's call it a day. We'll go back and report to Lord Chido. Remember to use the restoration gun to fix the glass window before we leave."

"Yes, Lord Sasdin!"

After watching the disgruntled captain of the guard leave, Mengmeng walked up to Mu Huai with a smile and bowed to express her gratitude: "Thank you for your help, brother-in-law!"

"It's no big deal. Since you're planning to stay on Earth, then stay at my place... but it seems like there aren't enough rooms."

"Leave this problem to me!!" Lala jumped energetically in front of Mu Huai. She was so excited about living with her sister that she couldn't contain herself. "I have a 'Bang Bang Space Guy' that can expand an alternate dimension in the attic for them to use as a bedroom!"

He stared suspiciously at the prop in her hand that looked like a spinning wheel: "This thing... there won't be anything wrong with it, will there?"

"Absolutely no problem. I used to use 'Bang Bang Space-kun' to set up my secret research institute when I was in the palace, and there have never been any accidents!"

She confidently patted her chest and assured him, and seeing the breathtakingly beautiful peaks trembling, Mu Huai believed her.

Mengmeng had some knowledge of this space expansion technology and knew that a physical medium would make the space more stable, so she brought up the spaceship they had come to Earth.

Lala combined the spaceship and props to successfully expand a 500-square-meter alternate space in the attic on the third floor. She also planned to move her bedroom there so as not to wake Mu Huai up in the middle of the night because she was sleepwalking.

And so, the three alien sisters successfully settled into Mu Huai's house. Seeing this, Banai and Anzu also wanted to move in, but she was too shy to say it out loud.

(Anyway, Lala's room is empty, so I can move in anytime as long as no one comes!)

However, she did not expect that a drunken demon and a vampire with jeweled wings would soon move in.

"Wood, you're so mean! You actually made Mengmeng do your math homework for you yesterday."

"Hehe, if you're envious, why don't you ask her to write it for you too?"

Mu Huai raised his eyebrows smugly, his smug look making Banami Anzai want to punch him.

Mengmeng and the others said they wanted to study on Earth, but their father, Qiduo, hadn't replied yet. Lala couldn't make the decision to enroll them on her own, so she could only let her sisters stay at home and play for the time being.

"Speaking of which... the invisibility gadget they used yesterday was quite interesting. I think it was called 'invisibility grass'. If Nana hadn't made a sound, we might not have been able to detect it."

If Sanae were to use talismans to sense the wind, she might be able to find the two people. However, she couldn't do it with her eyes alone, so she was very curious about how Mu Huai had found them so accurately yesterday.

(I remember... there seems to be a True Ancestor vampire whose bloodline is even higher than Remilia's, living in his shadow, right? Could it be because of her?)

Lala chuckled and then explained, "That's a rare plant that's almost extinct in the Milky Way, but Mengmeng's garden has many rare plants, so it's not that rare."

"As expected of the third princess of the galaxy, the props she uses casually are of unimaginable value to ordinary people."

“It may be precious to others, but I remember there was an entire grove of ‘invisibility grass’ in the garden.”

Upon hearing Lala's words, Anna felt that she could build a good relationship with Momo and borrow a piece in case of emergency.

Ever since she saw Mu Huai taking a bath, she has been using that memory to cast nighttime water magic, and now she's almost tired of it. If she could get the "Invisibility Grass," she could update her spellcasting materials every few days.

What a wonderful thing this is!

Just as she was lost in her erotic fantasies, Mu Huai, who was walking ahead, suddenly stopped, and she bumped into him without warning.

"ah!"

"What are you thinking about as you walk? You didn't even notice the red light."

As soon as Banai saw Anja fall backward, Mu Huai grabbed her right hand and pulled her into his arms, like a soft, fluffy cotton candy with a girlish fragrance crashing into his chest.

The tips of her ears peeking out from her hair suddenly turned pink, and then she took a deep breath, as if she wanted to inhale all the reassuring scent emanating from him into her lungs.

"Whoo~"

She didn't leave his embrace, but instead lifted her face from his chest, her moist eyes, glistening with spring mist, staring at him, and her red lips parted slightly: "I was thinking about how to have lunch today since I didn't prepare a lunchbox for you."

Her words, which were completely at odds with her charming appearance, caused a hint of surprise to flash in Sanae's teasing eyes. She thought that after seeing one beautiful girl after another moving into the Mokui family home, Yanagi had finally been unable to hold back her feelings and wanted to confess.

(Is she unaware of her own feelings, or is she afraid of the change in the relationship and therefore dares not take that step?)

Delving into the answer is meaningless for Sanae; she will eventually return to being a shrine maiden in Gensokyo. Apart from Moku, she maintains an outsider's attitude towards most people and things in this world.

We will not interfere or meddle, but let it develop freely.

Moreover, Anja Hachimi was an obstacle to her cheating on Reimu with Mokuhou. It was already the best outcome that she didn't cause trouble for the other party. She shouldn't even think about giving the other party some pointers.

"Lunch is easy to solve. We can cook for ourselves in the club activity room. It has everything we need. Lala's teleportation phone can carry things, and we can just buy some ingredients at the convenience store on the way."

While Mu Huai and his friends were at school, Mengmeng and Nana, who stayed at home, were having a "brother-in-law's bedroom adventure."

Although Nana was initially very resistant to searching the boys' bedroom, she thought it was very impolite to just enter someone else's bedroom and rummage around, especially since the target was Mu Huai, who had stepped forward to help them stay on Earth the day before.

But Mengmeng, who had lived with her for so many years, naturally knew how to get this proud, flat-chested older sister to give in. She didn't try to persuade her, put her hands behind her back, and slowly walked upstairs in her rabbit slippers.

"If I find anything in Mr. Mu Huai's room, you're not allowed to ask me about it afterwards, okay?"

"Tch, don't treat me like a three-year-old. Besides games, boys' rooms are probably filled with... those lewd books. I don't even want to read them!"

Nana snorted dismissively and turned her back, but she secretly perked up her ears to listen intently to the footsteps coming from the second floor. As a long "creak" sound rang out, she subconsciously held her breath and focused all her attention on her ears.

"Wh...what!? What's inside...?"

Mengmeng didn't tell anyone what happened next, and then the second floor fell into absolute silence, as if she had been swallowed into another dimension.

(I didn't go upstairs to check on Mu Huai's room; I went upstairs because I was worried about my sister!)

After finding a reason for herself, Nana rushed upstairs, only to see Mengmeng leaning against the door frame, looking at her with a mocking expression: "You couldn't resist coming over to find out so quickly? I thought you would hold out a little longer."

"Stop nagging! I just came up to check the situation because I didn't hear you!"

"Thank you for your concern. Since we're already here, why don't we go inside and take a look together?"

Mengmeng casually pushed open the door to Mu Huai's bedroom. The room, which looked very clean and simple, seemed even more suspicious to Nana, since her room had never been this tidy.

His bedroom, being a boy's room, was even tidier than hers; there must be some unspeakable secret behind that!

She walked into the room under her sister's teasing gaze. Mengmeng, who followed her in, slammed the door shut, startling her. She complained angrily, "Why make such a fuss when you can just close the door?!"

"It was just a normal door closing sound. I think you're just feeling guilty."

“Our current behavior is no different from that of thieves.”

Mengmeng was speechless with emotion. She never thought of herself as a burglar who broke into a house. She was just a girl who was interested in her brother-in-law's room. Even if Mu Huai knew, he would forgive her, his sister-in-law, who had no ill intentions... probably.

Unlike Nana, who was so reserved that she didn't know where to put her hands, she felt no nervousness at all in a boy's room. Without thinking, she walked to the bedside, lay down, and looked down, since that was the most classic hiding place for books.

Instead of finding the book, she saw a blonde girl making an awkward eye contact with her.

"Yo...yo, my name is Marisa. What a coincidence, you're here to visit Brother Mu Huai too?"

Volume 3, "The Loser, the Alien Sisters, and Gensokyo High School": Chapter 32 Marisa: Do you want to talk to me about lifespan?

Marisa never expected that she would be arrested on the spot for sneaking over to drink milk last night and sleeping under the bed for a while. Although she didn't know who the two people were, they must be very familiar with Mu Huai because they were able to appear in Mu Huai's room in plain clothes.

To avoid looking like a terrifying witch from a story who would drag people under the bed and turn them into monsters, she had no choice but to crawl out and greet the two of them again: "My name is Marisa, a fellow magic enthusiast whom Brother Mu Huai met online!"

Nana's eyebrows looked like a tangled ball of yarn, and her sharp eyes scanned her: "Why were you hiding in his room, or under the bed?"

"Oh dear... I was just looking for him to come visit, but he wasn't home. I was thinking of giving him a little scare when he came back, and then I ran into the two of you, hahaha~"

"Miss Marisa, how old are you?"

"Hmm? Why are you suddenly asking this? You're not going to talk to me about lifespan, are you?" She knew that Mu Huai, like Kaguya of Eientei, had become immortal, but that wasn't a reason for him to talk to her about lifespan.

Any theory of lifespan will be defeated by her magic and sorcery (II) Yishan (V) Qi (〃Nine?) Liu 3 Yue (& Yi)!

"Lifespan theory?" Mengmeng was full of questions. She just wanted to know the age of this girl who looked younger than her.

The two looked at each other, realizing they had misunderstood each other, and laughed awkwardly but politely.

"Don't worry, don't worry, I'm old enough to drink alcohol, but I won't tell you the exact amount."

“My apologies, Miss Marisa. My name is Momo, and her name is Nana. Mr. Mu Huai is our brother-in-law.”

"Oh...you're his little...uh...what's that nickname again..."

(This person doesn't seem very bright; they don't even know such a basic form of address...)

Mengmeng kindly reminded her, "You should call her 'little sister-in-law'."

"Yes, yes, sister-in-law!" Marisa chuckled and scratched her hair, her eyes darting around as she pulled out several unusually brightly colored mushrooms from somewhere. "It's fate that we've met. I rushed over without bringing anything, so why don't we grill some mushrooms together?"

"The color is so bright, could it be poisonous?"

"Don't worry, don't worry, I've been eating it for a long time, and I'm perfectly fine!"

Nana didn't believe Marisa's one-sided story. She glanced at Momo out of the corner of her eye and only believed that the mushroom was edible after seeing Momo's "safe" look.

Marisa quickly led the two to the open space in the yard, set up a simple barbecue grill on her disc-shaped octagonal stove, and then stuffed a bunch of red mushrooms into it. Flames soon emerged from the center.

"What an amazing gadget... Could it be that you're an alien, Marisa-san?"

"Huh? What aliens?"

Her bewildered expression seemed genuine, so Mengmeng could only assume she was an Earthling like her sister Lala who enjoyed tinkering with gadgets in her spare time. She had never seen a gadget that used mushrooms to start a fire before.
