Chapter 354 The final madness
Chapter 354 The final madness
"Hmm..." Afro stammered. She heard the sound of rustling writing behind her.
"Go ahead, Campbell," Professor McGonagall guided her patiently.
Afro smiled and scratched his head, then said seriously, "I plan to go home and inherit the estate."
She heard the quill drop to the ground and Professor McGonagall's hand pause in mid-air.
"Oh, oh." Professor McGonagall was speechless. She flipped through the pamphlets and found that none of them were about inheriting the family business. "This is a good direction... uh, you can inherit the family business..."
Because Afro never boasted about her family background at school, many students in the school forgot that she came from a prominent family.
"Then you'll need to get excellent grades, too," Professor McGonagall continued, her voice slightly higher.
Umbridge suddenly coughed, but Professor McGonagall and Avro ignored her, so she coughed again, this time loudly.
"Do you need me to get you some cough syrup, Dolores?" Professor McGonagall didn't even look at her, and her stiff tone just expressed her concern politely.
Umbridge never acted like a demon again until Avro left the office.
Avro came across a dejected Harry in the corridor, looking at a small black flyer in his hand.
This flyer looked familiar. Afro had seen it at Professor McGonagall's place.
"Harry, what are you looking at?" She walked over and squatted in the corner with Harry.
Harry tilted the paper slightly towards the girl so that she could read the writing.
"You want to be an Auror?"
Harry nodded, staring at one of the requirements wistfully, "It's very demanding, and requires better grades, especially in Potions."
He had thought that by the end of the term he would never have to see Snape again.
"This profession is very strict and not easy." Afro took out a piece of paper and a pen and carefully helped Harry plan his courses. "I suggest you work harder on Mind Change and Potions."
Harry put down the flyer and listened carefully to Afro planning his future for him.
There was a feeling that they would always be in each other's life.
“…You also need to be prepared for frequent exams and training, and be able to withstand pressure.”
Avro handed Harry a piece of paper with the necessary requirements to become an Auror.
"Aphrodite, I think you can take over Professor McGonagall's job."
Harry looked at the beautiful cursive writing on the parchment, which seemed to have a faint fragrance. He couldn't help but put it under his nose and smell it.
Afro's cheeks flushed slightly when she saw Harry's perverted actions. "Well, I got a new ink, the scented one."
"It smells good, just like you."
Afro couldn't help but hit him, "Umbridge is also in Professor McGonagall's office, just pretend she doesn't exist."
Umbridge would have certainly stopped or belittled Harry from becoming an Auror.
"It doesn't matter. I'll just treat her as air."
When Harry came back at noon swinging his schoolbag, he couldn't hide his good mood at all.
"…she was as angry as a pufferfish in her office." Harry imitated Umbridge's yelling in Professor McGonagall's office, making the surrounding students laugh.
Hermione reminded them worriedly, "Umbridge's mood already looks terrible."
"Don't worry, Hermione." Fred and George held out a large box of props and showed them, "We've already started planning a cover."
"Make sure Umbridge doesn't find out!"
"We'll be there around five in the afternoon--"
"There's some commotion on the east side of the tower—"
"Harry, twenty minutes will be enough?"
Fred and George talked about their plans one after another, and Afro and Ron helped them improve them from time to time.
Hermione stopped commenting. She looked at the people who were making plans with great interest and opened her mouth, but in the end said nothing.
After the afternoon Defense Against the Dark Arts class, Harry's heartbeat was racing, and he was halfway down the corridor when he heard screaming and shouting not far away.
Umbridge waved her wand and ran in one direction, swinging her short legs desperately.
Harry put on the Invisibility Cloak, took out the knife and inserted it into the crack of Umbridge's office door. With a click, the door opened.
The tower on the east side of Hogwarts suddenly turned into a swamp, and the students from the investigation team who were patrolling there fell into it.
Umbridge and Filch stood at the edge of the swamp, thinking frantically about how to rescue Flint and the others.
The students who were watching the fun were covered in stinky juice, and Peeves were jumping around on their heads.
"Filch, go find him! Find out who did it!" Umbridge was so angry that her head was smoking. Her eyes were full of anger, as if they were about to spit out flames. "It must be Weasley!"
Fred and George made no attempt to hide themselves, and Filch caught them both smiling smugly with their hands covering their mouths not far from the swamp.
"Well!" Umbridge said proudly, looking at Fred and George standing in the middle of the crowd with their heads down. "It's fun to turn the school corridor into a swamp, isn't it?"
Fred looked up at her without a shred of fear. "It is indeed very amusing, George."
"That's right," George said casually.
“I feel like we’re no longer suited to full-time education.”
Fred drew out his wand, his eyes revealing unruly wildness, as if a lion was freely roaming in the forest.
George echoed his twin's words as he pulled out his wand, "We should probably try this out in the real world."
They raised their wands and shouted in unison, "Come on, broom!"
Fred and George met Afro's eyes across the crowd. Their smiles were bright and warm, like the summer sun, illuminating everything around them.
"We won't see you again!" Fred lifted one leg onto his broom.
They looked at the students around them and shouted, "If you want to buy a portable swamp, go to Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes at 93 Diagon Alley!"
"That's our new shop!" George also rode on his broom, threw down a few balls, and countless colorful little fireworks bloomed in the corridor.
Umbridge screamed, "Stop them!"
The investigation team and Filch surrounded them, but Fred and George kicked off the ground and flew over Avro's head.
"Peeves, teach her a lesson for us!"
Harry, who had returned, just caught up with this scene. It was the first time he saw Peeves obey the students' orders so well.
Amid the cheers of the students, Fred and George flew out of the door and merged into the sunset.
"They ran towards freedom." Afro muttered to himself as he stared at the figures that turned into two black dots.
Luna put down The Quibbler in her hand, looked at the chaotic corridor, and spoke as if chanting.
"They define Gryffindor."
