Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate

Chapter 1013: I’m Not Happy

Chapter 1013: I’m Not Happy

"Sophie, you’re Lucy’s best friend. Accompanying her shopping and choosing things is exactly what a good bestie would do, right?" Kai Bright tried to make one last stand."No problem, I’ll definitely go along with it," Sophie replied briskly, which made Kai Bright’s heart tighten. He had a sneaking suspicion that her agreement came all too easily.

"Sis, what are you planning?" Kai asked nervously.

"Of course, whatever Lucy fancies, I’ll buy it all for her!" Sophie boasted, "That’s just how it is when money’s no problem, can’t be helped."

"The phrase ’spendthrift and proud’ was practically invented for me."

Kai Bright felt a surge of frustration rise within him, nearly causing a spit take!

"Sophie Wilson, you’ve got some nerve!"

Kai was fuming. Hadn’t Sophie spent too much time with Charles Seymour? Have they both turned mischievous?

How did she become so cunning?

Sure, Sophie wasn’t short on cash and could buy everything for Lucy.

But in the end, wouldn’t the final decision still fall to him?

Lucy was such a gentle woman and liked to hear his opinion.

Having him make the choice was no different from having him accompany Lucy shopping, was it?

"I guess I’ll just have to accompany Lucy shopping myself," Kai Bright said, accepting his fate.

"That’s right. You’re about to be someone’s fiancé, after all. Of course, you need to accompany your soon-to-be fiancée for shopping," Sophie said with satisfaction as she passed the responsibility back to Kai Bright.

"But you know, cousin, you have the means, so why not just do what my Mr. Seymour does, prepare everything ahead of time, and let Lucy just show up on the day?" Sophie was a bit puzzled.

Over the phone, Kai Bright’s magnetic voice rang with sincerity: "Lucy’s mom would certainly want Lucy to have a grand engagement, and I want her mom to be involved and witness her daughter’s happiness."

"You know, back in the day, Lucy’s mom had some regrets in her marriage. So for me, whether it’s an engagement or a wedding, it’s not just about making Lucy happy but also making her mom feel content."

After Kai finished speaking, he waited a long time for a response on the other end: "Hello?"

Kai even brought the phone closer to make sure it hadn’t disconnected.

"Bro, who knew you were such a big romantic..." Sophie exclaimed.

"Well, you know..." Kai began but, not even two seconds later, Sophie finished her sentence on the other end, "... you’re just a bit shy of my Mr. Seymour, but still, very good!"

Kai Bright: "..."

Can these siblings not have a decent conversation?

Even her own brother isn’t spared from their public displays of affection. Isn’t Sophie a bit too brutal?

"Alright then, bro, you just take good care of Lucy. I’ll be supporting you in spirit! Good luck!" After Sophie cheered him on, she hung up and continued watching her movie and snacking.

Both her brother and her best friend finding happiness was indeed wonderful.

Later that evening, Sophie shared the story with Charles Seymour: "...I really didn’t expect my brother to be so attentive. But Lucy is great too. She goes back and forth picking out things all to make sure my brother likes them. With such a strong connection between them, I feel at ease."

"A good man, my brother is truly a good man!" Sophie sighed with happiness, "I’m delighted!"

Charles Seymour looked at Sophie, setting down his chopsticks: "I’m not delighted."
