Chapter 565 - 537: What Day Is It Today

Chapter 565 - 537: What Day Is It Today

The car drove out of the airport area. Looking at the familiar surroundings outside the window, Sienna Thornton put away her smile, sighed heavily, and said helplessly, "I’ve been away for half a month, and I really miss home."Just as Simon Forrester was about to ask which home she missed, he saw her smile vanish completely. She sat there, face solemn, looking at the scenery whizzing past outside as she pondered something.

Simon Forrester knew she was probably thinking about Quentin Thorne and Melinda Linton. He didn’t pry, opting to drive quietly and give her space to think.

The airport was only about a half-hour drive from The Fenmore Villa, and as they were about to exit the airport highway, Simon Forrester asked, "Straight to Fenmore?"

Sienna Thornton didn’t answer immediately. After thinking for a while, she sighed again, "I’ll go to my mom’s."

Simon Forrester glanced at her and asked, "What? Are you going to oppose it?"

"I need to talk to them."

"Don’t. Just pretend you don’t know about it. When you see Thornton living there, don’t say anything. Over time, everyone will get used to it, and this issue will transition smoothly. If you go and mention it now, it’ll just make things awkward for everyone."

Sienna Thornton was initially holding her head in frustration. Hearing Simon Forrester’s words, she became anxious, turning around and whispering to him like a prickly porcupine, "How can I pretend not to know? Ian Grant just passed away six months ago, and my dad’s already living with my mom. If the Grant Family finds out and Grandpa Grant or Gage’s dad gets upset, what would they do to my mom?"

Simon Forrester knew she was at a loss, worried and troubled, and didn’t know how to comfort her, so he could only wait for her to calm down.

As the car passed The Springs Residences’ entrance, he skipped it and drove straight home without asking Sienna Thornton.

The car drove steadily uphill to Fenmore Hill, stopping at their home.

Sienna Thornton snapped back, surprisingly saying, "I said I’m going to my mom’s, why’d you drive here directly?"

"Enough." Simon Forrester rarely put on a serious face, "It’s late. The elderly are resting. Go tomorrow."

"No!" Sienna Thornton pushed him, urging him to get out of the car, "If you’re sleepy, you go ahead and sleep. I must go to my mom’s tonight." Finished, she hurried off the car, moving to the driver’s seat door, "Get out, I’ll drive myself."

Simon Forrester ignored her, opened the armrest box, took a small remote control from inside, and tucked it into his trouser pocket before leisurely getting out of the car.

Sienna Thornton immediately sat in the driver’s seat, reversed, and drove straight towards the gate.

Simon Forrester didn’t wait for her, he entered the house, poured a cup of warm water from the kitchen counter, and watched through the floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room. He sipped water while observing the stubborn porcupine, unable to leave without the remote key, returning her car, and reluctantly unloading her suitcase.

Sienna Thornton dragged her suitcase inside, checking through the entryway cabinet. Simon Forrester knew she was looking for another car key; each car had a gate remote inside.

He picked up his phone, performing some kind of operation. After obtaining the car key and running back out, Sienna Thornton found the gate remote control, but after trying for ages, the gate remained unresponsive.

Angrily, she returned inside with the remote and searched downstairs, not finding Simon Forrester. She headed upstairs to find him comfortably enjoying a bath.

It was early December, and Brimfield was quite cold. After changing cars and moving suitcases outside, she was thoroughly chilled. As she rushed into the steam-filled bathroom, the sudden warmth revitalized her cold-bitten pores, urging her, "Go take a bath~ Go take a bath~"

At this moment, Simon Forrester waved a bottle of essential oil at her, "Sakura-scented essential oil, want to try it?"

"I’ll change clothes and be right back!" In seconds, the woman who looked like she was about to devour him with fury ran off to change clothes.

.

Simon Forrester poured some sakura essential oil into his palms, warming it up before massaging Sienna Thornton’s shoulder and neck muscles, "You haven’t had a massage in half a month, you’ve stiffened up again. It seems you didn’t sneak off somewhere else for a massage."

Sienna Thornton lifted her hand to hit him lightly, "I’m annoyed, don’t joke around!"

Simon Forrester chuckled, saying nothing more. He poured some more oil into his hands and continued massaging her shoulders and neck.

"Tomorrow, I’ll schedule a dinner with Tobias. If the Grant Family has any objections regarding Thornton and our mom, we’ll have Tobias’s grandfather persuade Grandpa Grant and Uncle Grant. Generally, there shouldn’t be a problem. The Grant Family listens to Tobias’s grandfather."

Sienna Thornton suspiciously glanced back at him, "Are you sure?"

"Of course."

Sienna Thornton turned her head back, splashing water with her hands, then said softly, "If the Grant Family has no objections and won’t cause trouble for my mom, I won’t oppose them."

"I understand you," Simon Forrester embraced her, "but rushing off tonight was a bit impulsive. If I had let you go, who knows what hurtful things you might have said to the two elders."

"When have I ever said anything hurtful to elders?"

Simon Forrester: "...???"

.

The tension in Sienna Thornton’s heart eased halfway, and she began to feel playful. Her delicate hands splashed in the water as she played joyfully. She even asked Simon Forrester if he wanted to swim a couple of laps on the third floor.

Simon Forrester, half-laughing, half-crying, said, "If you don’t know, the third floor heat isn’t on. If you go up like this, you’ll definitely catch a cold, and with the situation as it is, who knows if you can take medication even if you catch a cold..."

Sienna Thornton ignored his rambling, continuing to splash around in the water. When he fell silent, she swam to his side, shaking his arm, "What happened?"

Simon Forrester came back to his senses, "While you were in Valois this half-month, did your period come?"

"No. It normally comes at the start of the month..."

The two stared blankly at each other.

"What’s today’s date?" Sienna Thornton asked.

"The 9th," Simon Forrester replied.

Sienna Thornton didn’t respond immediately. After a moment, she said in a daze, "Oh no, this is bad."

Simon Forrester giggled, unable to hide his happiness, and even his usually deep voice sounded lighter, "We’re going to have a daughter!"

Sienna Thornton covered her face, crying out, saying if she were pregnant now, with the due date next August, staying home would be unbearable in the heat...

They soon emerged from the bathroom, Sienna Thornton to dry her hair, Simon Forrester to the medicine cabinet to find the test kit. Once he found it, he unwrapped it, carefully read through the instructions, then showed Sienna Thornton how to use it.

The last time they stayed in the apartment and suspected Sienna Thornton might be pregnant, she was in there fiddling alone while he was nervously waiting outside, even thinking of names for their granddaughter.

But not today. He took the test strip and a cup inside, waiting for the results. When Sienna Thornton was unsure about the procedure, he reminded her.

However, despite being brilliant in academics, Sienna Thornton was clueless about these things, clumsily slow in her actions. The first time she even made a mistake, causing no result to show on the test strip.

Seeing the unresponsive test strip, she frantically tugged at Simon Forrester’s bathrobe, asking softly, "Does this mean I’m not pregnant?"

Before Simon Forrester could respond, she cheered up, raising her hands to form a V-sign, "Yay! Not pregnant!"
