Chapter 569 - 541: Prenatal Checkup

After that, aside from the seven o’clock news, short videos, Moments, Weibo, and other major official accounts, once again heavily promoted Sienna Thornton and her team. The focus was still on Sienna Thornton, with a format similar to last year’s.Sienna Thornton has a good image, tall and pretty, possesses a generous and unpretentious demeanor, with a natural star quality. Some entertainment media managed to contact her, expressing interest in creating a special variety show dedicated to her, but she rejected them one by one.

Not to mention the entertainment industry is murky, Sienna Thornton herself dislikes it, plus the organization wouldn’t allow her to tread into such chaos. Her current image is too positive and inspiring, every action needs to be cautious, even the Forrester Family’s conduct should be kept low-key.

The Forresters were already low-key, coupled with Director-General Linton’s intentional arrangements, all interviews and articles about her didn’t reveal a hint of her husband’s situation, merely mentioning she is married and her husband is a senior executive in a company.

Regarding this, Simon Forrester was quite happy. He disliked people knowing he was the chairman of the Forrester Group, aside from those who already knew, he typically introduced himself as working in the enterprise.

All interviews were over, and in mid-December, Sienna Thornton began her vacation, continuing until after New Year’s Day when she resumed work.

On the first morning of the holiday, she and Simon Forrester went to the hospital early. Knowing there would be a blood test today, she came on an empty stomach. Simon Forrester, fearing she would feel uncomfortable if hungry, brought boiled eggs and hot milk in a thermos, planning to give them to her after the blood test.

Sienna Thornton originally wanted Zion Quincy to help recommend an obstetrician, but Tobias Blackwood had already introduced one to Simon Forrester from his side. The doctor was a close friend of Mrs. Blackwood, Joyce Sutton, similar in age to Sienna Thornton, young but with a great reputation and excellent medical skills.

Since Sienna Thornton planned to have a natural delivery, she had already familiarized herself with the process over the past few days, feeling it wasn’t a complicated matter. Thus, she thought it unnecessary to trouble Tobias Blackwood over such a trivial thing and just needed Zion Quincy to recommend an experienced doctor.

But Simon Forrester didn’t think so. He believed whether it was natural or cesarean delivery, it was a significant matter involving two lives, so it was better to find someone familiar, who could handle things more cleanly and cautiously.

Ultimately, unable to persuade him otherwise, Sienna Thornton agreed.

They booked Joyce Sutton’s clinic appointment for today. When they arrived at the consultation room, there were several people ahead of them. They waited outside for their turn, both being rule-abiding individuals, not using connections to jump the queue or sneak in.

Their hands clasped together as they waited outside the consultation room, surrounded by expectant mothers with large bellies attending checkups alone.

Sienna Thornton glanced around briefly, then shook the hand linked with Simon Forrester’s, whispering, "Next time I can come alone; you go to work."

"That’s not possible; if you come alone, I won’t be at ease."

Sienna Thornton was used to being independent, without the habit of being chauffeured around. She was confident in her agility. Simon Forrester used to trust her too, but now she’s pregnant, with no visible tummy yet, he intends to follow her everywhere, amusing her further: "Weren’t you quite trusting of me before?"

"You have the baby now; things are different from before."

"Baby, is this the nickname you chose for the child? Do you know what ’baby’ means?"

Simon Forrester raised an eyebrow, somewhat proud: "My baby!"

Sienna Thornton covered her mouth, giggling secretly. After laughing, she leaned closer to his ear and whispered, "’In my hometown, ’baby’ means a hooligan. Are you sure you want to use this name?"

"This is the city, not your countryside."

"Huh?" Sienna Thornton laughed, "But I am a country girl. Every time you call the child ’baby,’ it makes me feel chaotic as if I’m carrying a hooligan."

"Why don’t you come up with a name for our child then?"

As the two were quietly discussing the child’s nickname, the nurse came out to call the number: "Number eleven, number eleven, Miss Thorne."

Sienna Thornton quickly raised her hand, "Here!" she said, handing her bag to Simon Forrester as she got up and followed the nurse inside.

Inside the small consultation room, a young female doctor in a white coat sat opposite the entrance, looking at the computer screen with the nurse seated across from her.

Sienna Thornton sat in the chair beside the doctor’s desk and handed over her health insurance card.

The doctor took the card, glanced at her, and smiled warmly, "Hi, I’m Dr. Sutton." She said, inserting the card into the slot.

Joyce Sutton looked at the screen again, noticing the patient’s name, and remarked with surprise, "Are you Nadia’s friend?"

Sienna Thornton smiled, "My husband is Mr. Blackwood’s friend."

Joyce Sutton understood, smiling, "Did you wait outside long? Why didn’t you come in directly to find me?"

Sienna Thornton told a little white lie, "We just arrived."

Joyce Sutton smiled, saying nothing more, checked the medical records on Sienna Thornton’s health insurance card, and routinely asked some questions such as the date of her last period, if there were any discomforts, any bleeding, or any history of miscarriage.

Sienna Thornton answered each question, and Joyce Sutton advised her to continue taking folic acid, pay attention to rest and nutrition, avoid crowded places or those with poor air quality, and call her if there was any discomfort.

Finally, Joyce Sutton issued blood test and ultrasound orders, instructing Sienna Thornton to get those done and then come back.

Joyce Sutton, worried that it was Sienna Thornton’s first visit to a city hospital and unfamiliar with the environment, arranged for the nurse to assist with card creation and tests, accompanying her throughout.

The nurse took the orders and led Sienna Thornton out of the consultation room. Simon Forrester, waiting by the door with a small women’s bag slung over his shoulder, immediately approached nervously, "What did the doctor say?"

Sienna Thornton smiled, "She said everything’s fine. We’re going for blood tests and an ultrasound now."

"That’s good." Simon Forrester wrapped his arm around her shoulder, enveloping most of her in his embrace with his other hand holding hers.

The nurse standing nearby remarked with envy, "Miss Thorne, your husband is so handsome."

Simon Forrester’s outstanding appearance was undeniable, the type one rarely encountered in everyday life. Yet, this handsome man was also so attentive to his wife.

Sienna Thornton glanced up at her husband, who was a head taller, and said proudly, "I’m not too bad myself; I match him well."

Simon Forrester quickly declared, "No, no, I’m the one reaching up."

Sienna Thornton burst into laughter.

The nurse, too, giggled quietly.

.

They first went to the blood test center. Sienna Thornton was very brave, having several tubes of blood drawn without a sound, while Simon Forrester remained tense beside her, questioning, "Is it necessary to draw so much blood just for testing HCG and progesterone? Pregnant women are naturally anemic; is drawing this much reasonable?"

The nurse at the blood draw initially rolled her eyes, not responding. After Simon Forrester asked again, she impatiently replied, "Ask the attending doctor; we only do the blood drawing."
