Chapter 574 - 545: She Weighs More Than the Realm (Part 1)

Although Simon Forrester wanted to stay home and accompany his pregnant wife, there was a huge group to run, with a large number of documents needing his signature every day and decisions for him to make every two or three days.At first, he arranged for Gavin Gale to gather all the documents he needed to sign each day and deliver them to The Fenmore Villa before Gavin got off work, so he could review them at night. Meetings he needed to host were conducted online from home whenever possible, and for meetings he absolutely needed to attend in person, he’d make a trip to the Forrester Group.

After a week, Nolan Kramer probably reported this matter to Zane Forrester, who didn’t dare to reproach his son, so he went to Old Master Forrester to complain. As soon as Old Master Forrester heard, he called from the old mansion.

That night when the call came, Simon Forrester was taking a shower, and his phone was left on the bedside. Sienna Thornton saw it was Old Master Forrester calling, so she opened the bathroom door and asked, "Grandpa is calling, do you want to answer it?"

Simon was applying shampoo to his hair, his head and face covered with foam, making it impossible to answer the call. But he was worried in case the old man needed something, so he mumbled, "Please answer it for me, see what grandpa wants."

"Okay." Sienna closed the bathroom door and picked up the phone, "Hello, Grandpa?"

Old Master Forrester laughed upon hearing his granddaughter-in-law’s voice and asked, "Annie, I heard you’re on holiday recently and haven’t returned to the old mansion. Are you two traveling?"

Sienna had no idea Old Master Forrester’s call was to test Simon’s whereabouts, so she answered honestly, "No, we’re at Fenmore Hill."

"Not planning to go out and have a look while on a long holiday?"

Sienna was too embarrassed to tell Old Master Forrester that she was pregnant, so she said, "I was rather tired recently, wanted to rest at home..."

Hearing this, Old Master Forrester quickly agreed, reminding her to rest well at home and saying she could stay at the old mansion for a few days if she had time, then hung up the phone.

Sienna placed the phone back on the bedside cabinet, exhaling a long breath. Given her current condition, staying at the old mansion for a few days would probably drive her crazy.

Each day, she was either vomiting or lying in bed drowsy. Occasionally, stepping out to soak in the sun also made her feel unbearably miserable.

When she couldn’t eat, Simon Forrester would come up with different ways to prepare delicious food for her. Whenever she had a craving, no matter how far, Simon would go get it for her. Just like today, she hadn’t kept any food down for a few days, and when she woke up this morning, she suddenly craved wontons and marinated noodles from a snack shop near Z City No. 1 High School. Simon didn’t say a word, grabbed the car keys, and took her to Z City.

They set off before eight in the morning and reached Z City by one in the afternoon. Fortunately, that snack shop was still open. When Sienna got out of the car and caught a whiff of that familiar smell from her memory, she instantly cheered up.

A moment ago, she had been slumped in the passenger seat, lamenting that she would only have this one child and never another, even recording it on her phone, forcing Simon to agree. Right then, Simon didn’t dare oppose her, earnestly responding into the phone, "Yes, no more, just this one in this lifetime! If I go back on my word, I’ll change my surname to Teng, and be called Teng Simon!"

But now, having devoured the food she craved, she completely forgot her resolve from the car, and even said, "I hope when I’m pregnant with a second child, this shop is still around... I rely on their wontons to survive now."

Simon didn’t remind her, just nodded and said, "Alright." Thinking to himself, there might still be hope for a second child, and for their family’s second baby, he must keep an eye on this snack shop’s continued operation.

After a four or five-hour drive to Z City, they shared a bowl of marinated noodles, each had a bowl of wontons, and additionally packed several portions of raw wontons before driving another four or five hours back to Brimfield.

They traveled under the morning light and returned with the evening glow.

The passenger seat was adjusted to a reclining position, and Sienna fell asleep lying down. Simon focused on driving, occasionally glancing at her. Her face was pale, lips colorless, eyelashes thick and curled, chin line smooth and perfect.

While driving, Simon wondered if their child would be a girl, what the chances were she’d look like her mother... because girls often resembled their fathers, and if their daughter resembled her father instead of her mother, wouldn’t that be another Sylvia Langley? Because he also had some resemblance to Sylvia Langley.

However, Sylvia had been beautiful her whole life, seducing Zane so thoroughly when she was young with her beauty that he was utterly smitten. Even now, in her sixties, she still appeared remarkably youthful and beautiful.

Simon’s conclusion — if their daughter resembled him, it wouldn’t be too bad!

.

As the car approached the service station, Simon checked the time; it had been over two hours since Sienna last used the restroom. Worried she might need to go soon, he pulled the car into the service station.

When turning off the engine, he turned toward her, intending to wake her but noticed even in her sleep, her hands instinctively cradled her belly.

He smiled, gently clasping her hands resting on her belly. Even though winter had set in, and the car heater was on, her fingers were still ice cold. His large hand gently caressed her small hand, letting the warmth travel from their fingertips to their palms and then to their hearts.

After a while of warming, her eyelashes fluttered lightly, and she awoke peacefully, eyes scanning around the car’s surroundings, her voice a bit raspy as she asked, "Where are we now?"

He smiled, lifted her hand and kissed it, softly saying, "At the service station, I’ll go to the restroom with you."

She lazily murmured an "oh," propped herself up: "Okay, I do feel a bit urgent."

Simon took their coats, got out of the car, opened her door, helped her put on the coat before leading her, shielding her against the cold wind, to the restroom.

The men’s restroom line moves faster than the women’s, so Simon quickly exited and waited outside. He wore a superior quality, expensive dark blue wool coat, jeans, and underneath, a white round-neck sweater. To shield from the wind, he’d popped the coat’s collar. His hair, being thick and like his eyes, a deep amber, had no styling, just naturally tossed to one side.

The women who walked past after exiting the restroom couldn’t help but take several glances at him, whispering and giggling, mostly comments along the lines of — that man is so handsome, tall and handsome... great fashion sense, looks like a star, even better than a star...

Why did Simon know? Because when Sienna came out, she immediately urged him to get in the car, saying she overheard several women discussing while she was vomiting inside, who once outside intended to ask for his WeChat contact if he was still around.

Upon hearing this, Simon quickly ushered his lovely wife into the car, started the engine, and resumed their journey.

The car merged back into the highway traffic.

A pair of small, fair hands suddenly reached towards him: "Hand it over."

He didn’t understand what she meant: "Hand what over?"
