Chapter 1180 - 1194: Put Away Your Curiosity

Qi Jinghui chuckled as he followed behind the two, "Captain Mu, I think sister-in-law is different from what I imagined.""You don’t need to imagine that," Mu Xingfeng replied coolly, wrapping his arm around An Ran as they headed straight for his car.

In the car, An Ran looked back at the people still standing in a daze and couldn’t help but laugh.

Mu Xingfeng helped her fasten her seatbelt and, seeing his mischievous-looking little wife, kissed her on the corner of her lips, "What are you laughing at?"

"Oh, the cold-faced Yama of the Nan’an Guard Team, I finally saw it today, truly so cold and inhuman," An Ran sighed as she looked up at the sky.

"You cheeky girl, daring to tease your husband," Mu Xingfeng pinched her cheek and focused on starting the car.

"But, husband, I’m really curious about what kind of person they imagine me to be." Her time at the Nan’an Guard Team wasn’t long, and besides interacting with a few of the wives, she really hadn’t interacted with his teammates much.

"Put away your curiosity, and remember, no matter what others think of you, just remember you’re Mu Xingfeng’s wife." Mu Xingfeng’s expression wasn’t too pleasant as he said this.

But An Ran’s smile grew even wider.

After having lunch with An Ran and sending her back to school, Mu Xingfeng returned to the Guard Team and was busy until late at night.

It was nearly one in the morning when he returned to the villa. He thought An Ran would definitely be asleep by then, but as soon as he entered, he saw her leaning against the staircase railing.

He didn’t know how long the little one had waited for him, having fallen asleep leaning against the railing, still clutching the birthday gift he had given her, a tank made of bullet casings.

He walked over, took the tank from her arms and set it aside, then gently picked her up, carrying her upstairs to their room.

An Ran woke up in his arms, opened her eyes, and saw his perfect jawline and stern face.

Sensing the little one move in his arms, Mu Xingfeng looked down and met her sleepy eyes, a smile forming on his lips, "Why didn’t you go back to the room to sleep if you were tired? It’s chilly, sitting there at night might get you sick."

An Ran wrapped her arms around his neck, her little head pressed tightly against his chest, "I wanted to see you as soon as possible."

He would be leaving for the Imperial City tomorrow. She was afraid that if she slept until morning, she would only catch a fleeting glimpse of him.

Mu Xingfeng paused, then understood her meaning. It was their last night together in Nan’an; how could she not cherish it?

He felt the same way, placing her gently on the soft bed before leaning down to kiss her deeply, filled with longing and desire.

The next morning, just as the sky began to lighten, Mu Xingfeng got out of bed.

An Ran opened her eyes to see him standing by the bed, meticulously buttoning his shirt.

She got out of bed, reached for his tie, and helped him tie it.

Mu Xingfeng looked down at her, and when she finished, he kissed her forehead and hugged her tightly, "I’m leaving. You should sleep a bit more. Remember to call and message me often."

Originally, An Ran wanted to go to the Guard Team to see Mu Xingfeng off, but he didn’t want to see her standing all alone, enduring the pain of their parting. If he had to leave, he preferred to slip away quietly, like when he went on missions.

"Okay," An Ran buried her head in his chest, her voice muffled, knowing that even if she asked to go see him off, Mu Xing’er wouldn’t agree. "Husband, remember to miss me. I’ll come find you when we have the national holiday."
